  • Happy Birthday Bronnie!!
Min - commiserations on the job. It obviously wasn't to be, which means there's something else out there that is meant for you - exciting!

Alex - well done on your weight loss!! That's a fab achievement. I'm "doing" slimming world at the moment (allegedly) although doing rather rubbish at the moment! How have you done it?

Goanmad - I would actually love to know your ebay name if that's ok please??

Grey - well I avoid grey too, because it washes me out and tends to make me look........ well grey!

TOTM for me - and feeling sluggish, bloated and grotty. What is it with my hormones today!! Dh helpfully suggested my it's menopause - BLESS

Due fat feeling - I'm wearing black lol:
tunic top with rara type frill at the bottom - Asda
    leggings - Top Shop
    brown boots - Next
    black bead bracelets - Primarni
red & silver choker - handmade

Finish at 1, then have to get two 3yr old giggling girls to ballet
  • Thanks guys. I think I just got so many hopes built up about it - it would have been a really convenient commute, it was a nice building/area, lovely office, and the interviewers seemed really nice and positive. At the same time I know there were things that I did wrong, like decisions I made in the test, and having to be prompted in the interview, but an awful lot of that was nerves and I was really hoping they might have seen past it.

Oh well, I have another interview next week, so hopefully better luck next time.

Claire- I relate, I'm retaining water really badly today, my ring I wear everyday that is normally loose is making dents in my finger, and is firmly wedged on!

Min- best of luck for next week hun

    I'm happy,
I was sent a free vintage dress today that I adore, which kind of offset my grumpy mood a bit.
Very anxious about my meeting this afternoon, though there really is no need :o

    I've been Money Tipped!
Has anyine tried any off the stuff for water retention? I used somehting in italy which I can't get here, but you ut it in a big botle of water, and it was great because you made sure you got hrough your water and it really worked. Last time we were in Milan it was hot, even DH swelled up in the heat, and we both took it and you could almost watch my hands and feet drain of sweeling let alone the rest of me, rofl.

Aquaban, just doesn't work as well for me.

Happy birthday Bronnie :D The trip away sounds like a lovely treat!
alexnikov, are you near your target weight now? hats an impressive loss, well done.

Nowhere near! It's quite bad when I've lost that much weight and I'm still size 18 :o Ah well, I'll get there eventually. Don't really have a target weight in mind, I just don't want to be bigger than a size 14 by next May (I'm on bridesmaid duty at my best friend's wedding).

Min - sorry to hear about the job :( Onwards and upwards though, the perfect one will be waiting for you.

Thanks Claire. I'm not doing any particular diet, just vague attempt at calorie controlling and lots and lots of willpower.

I love grey. Almost all my winter stuff features it in one form or another - winter coat is grey check and I have grey scarves/gloves/mittens/armwarmers a plenty :D

Today's outfit is entirely lacking in inspiration as I was up revoltingly early to go to the dentist and have a filling :( Still can't feel my mouth properly!

    Black cowboy boots - Evans
Indigo jeans (a pair that actually fit for once :p ) - Dotty P's
Slash neck grey long line top - Dotty P's (mega flattering, I love it)
Black cashmere cardi - Next clearance
    Flower stud earrings - Accessorize
    And some eyeliner :)

3 stone already suggest this is very well within your reach, Its only two sizes to go! As you know I'm struggling on the same long hard slog. :) I'm very impressed by how well you are doing.:T

I've had bad experiences with water tablets in the past :o
I need to talk to my doctor when I see her Monday and see what she suggests, I hate being swollen and bloated, it makes me miserable.

    *eta*

Alex- congrats on the weight loss, that is an incredible amount to lose!

    Its ghastly, isn't it.
Anyway, thanks to this thread I've just asked my mother, who is in Italy, to bring me back some of my super Italian stuff, as I used my last precious bit of it last week!

Hi girls! Alex, WELL DONE on the weight loss! That's a fantastic achievement. I agree with LiR - you don't sound far off your goal now! And a very Happy Birthday to Bronnie, too.

I've just returned from a mission to the PO - as well as quite a few jewellery orders, I had 9 eBay parcels to send. The woman behind the counter looked at me in utter disgust when I plonked my bag in front of her! I've been in with parcels at lunchtime before and she's asked me to 'come at a quieter time next time'!! I find lots of PO staff like this. I'm paying for a service, they shouldn't see it as a chore! It's their job! Gggrrr.

Anyway, am pleased with today's outfit:

Red 50s style dress with white buttons all the way down
Navy and white striped jumper worn over the top
    Grey belt
    Black tights
    Black ankle boots
    Black cocktail ring
    Gold anchor studs

    :)
  • Hi think this will be my first post on this board but I am recovering from a teeth extraction op which I had yesterday and so home bound today and need to write something.

My friend has popped round to check on me just and my OH is looking after me today but definitely felt the need to shower and get dressed and put makeup on as yesterday was a makeup free day as had to go under general anaesthetic. Couldn't tell u all how nice it was to apply my foundation this morning!

    Anyway, I am wearing:-

    Leopard print socks - 75p Tesco's
Leopard print slippers - £3 Next sale
River Island Skinny Dark Blue Jeans - £39.99 (my fave jeans are from River Island and so probably the most expensive items I buy, they last forever though)
Black Secret Possessions Skinny vest top - £1.50
Warehouse Taupe Knitted and Mohair cropped jumper cardigan top - £4.00 inc. delivery from ebay (arrived the other day) would have cost RRP £35-40 normally I would imagine.
MAC Satin Taupe eye shadow and Urban Decay Sin eyeshadow, Clinique liquid foundation and Bourjois powder foundation.

Hope it is ok to join this board. Thanks.
Mummy to a beautiful 4 month old princess! x
