Third time now and the postman has put our letters into next door. He realised his mistake because he posted the other neighbour`s letters into our house and called to retrieve them. The first neighbour was out all day so he could not get them. I left this neighbour a note. A couple of our near neighbours take long holidays so I am breathing a sigh of relief that we have the letters his evening, one of which included a cheque. Postie did apologise

First time, I told the postman and asked him to be careful. Second time I was `mad` as we were waiting for a time sensitive document. What should I do next? He is a cheery person but seems awfully dozy and slapdash. I reported him the second time.

What now?

Blimey. You didn't happen to live in Amsterdam during the last war, next to the Frank family, by any chance?

Maybe you could make friends with your neighbours, so making the retrieval activity easier ... or maybe you should get out more? We all make mistakes, give your poor postman a break.
    Gone ... or have I?

is it really that important in the grand sceme of things? this postie may be having other issues, granted shouldnt come into his working day but maybe its so serious it does. and by reporting him it may make his life worse or he may loose his job, do ya really want that on your conscience? he may be working 2 shifts to cover hols or sick, who knows, id cut the guy some slack

I doubt you will get anywhere as we didn't when we complained about our postie. The only reason we complained though is because someone at the same house number but on a totally different street got my new bank card and pin number on different days despite having the correct address on them, that as well as my pay slip went to the same house. Luckily I know the fella who's house they went to and he brought them round.

I can't believe some of the comments on here are 'give the postie a break' and 'you need to get out more'
OP has every reason to be p'd of 4 not getting her post and wasting her own time tracking it down, it is the posties JOB to deliver correctly and he gets PAID to do said job, now if he can't put 100% effort in to his work then i am sure there are plenty of people at the job centre who would appreciate having a job in the 1st place and will do it WELL.

OP you should tell your postie it is not acceptable, if i make a mistake in my job i want and expect to be told straightaway otherwise how do i know i made a mistake? If no one tells me then i will keep doing it all the time won't i?

Couldn't agree more! Not fair giving the OP a hard time, it could be a serious problem if sensitive mail is being delivered to the wrong house on a regular basis, what it the neighbours weren't trustworthy? The OP has stated that they have spoken to the postman, why should they keep wondering if they will get the post today or will it be delivered to the wrong house! People on here can be a little unfair at times!
