As they will go back over 20 yrs
They can only "go back" as far as you can go yourself. The company does no actual investigation and has no special method of procuring information about your past finances. You have to fill in the forms with all the details which the company then presents to the Bank to investigate. If no records exist from twenty years ago then the company cannot "go back" twenty years at all.

This is just a waste of money, haven't you read any of this thread prior to posting?

Yes, they called us. We did complete & sign all the paperwork they sent to us. I will give them a call tonight and ask how much they charge.

    Thanks for your help.
You should find out the charge before signing the documents. The charge should be on the documents?

I doubt murphy39 will heed your words, the poster concerned last logged onto this site in 2009!
  • I have a file full of PPI letters which I've sent (usings Martins templates), and received back.
I've also only had success in one case, leading to a very small payout.
In one case I had to pursue via court action & it cost me a monies (I could ill afford), to get out of it when I realised I was in far too deep!
I thought I had exhausted all my PPI leads until The Claims Guys called and suggested a couple more to me - I said I thought they had been turned down, but they were not convinced so I signed up, & they clearly told me how much I would be expected to pay if they are successful beforehand.
I will be happy to pay them if they can succeed where I have failed.
Today I have received confirmation that they have submitted a claim to one of my suggested leads.
    fingers crossed.

So why couldn't you submit your lead yourself and avoid paying them 40%+ of any refund?

Did it not worry you to get a cold call from a company who suggested you put in complaints with them but apparently didn't tell you you could do it for free yourself?

If you have been turned down already and it's outside the 6 months to refer to FOS, watch out for a bill from them for "admin work" in a few months when they get rejected as you have already complained

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

    Hello,

I am a new customer and would like to show my first impression about The Claim Guys.

Today I was waiting for over 20 min. before someone unswered to my call, and little bit worried, is it the right company for me?

    Thank you.

I'd be more worried about the huge proportion of any redress you'll be charged by them for basically putting a stamp on the envelope containing your complaint.

By the way, this forum is not for posting reviews of Claim Companies! The complaint process is simple and free, so why not do it yourself?

If you have too much money and are of a charitable nature, then definitely.
