I noticed too that the little extra soon rack
up,I had some internal doors from them I
noticed the jut the door handles no lock
were all £20 + vat each and upwards
bought the same on ebay set of 7 inc locks
    for £65 inc P&P
Definatly worth shopping round for the extras

I was considering going to one of those places
that delivers the units ready made,so they can
be slid in place, then going to a local timber yard
    and buying wooden work tops.

HM they are still not returning any of my calls etc they are seriously hacking me off :(, might have to go down the homebase/wickes/ikea road, though i really wanted the units preassembled. Managed to get a price for all named appliances (inc 12 place SMEG dishwasher) all in stainless steel, literally all in with the kitchen sink & tap £1k delivered.
No one said it was gonna be easy!

Wow, where from - some internet outlet? well done:T

Check out the homebase sale link below - if you're just looking for cupboards the prices are already quoted online (a rare thing indeed).

Thanks Shay, we're only getting the cooker & hob (keeping our existing other stuff as fairly new/reliable), so will probably bite the bullet and stick with homebait:D

Can I be cheeky and ask those of you who are able to go direct through Howdens, which branches you are using? I have called all my local branches and when asked it they will sell to non-trade we get a flat out 'no'. I'm assuming they deliver so even if I can get a brochure and order form a branch further afield that could work?

We won't be needing anything for the kitchen for a little while but we will be needing doors, skirting etc

Yep R&C, my neighbour builder mentioned it (Greenford branch, NW London) as he has a trade account with them. It's to-trade only, unless anyone knows a "wangle" out?
  • If you are willing to spend that amount on a kitchen, have a look at some of these (some are used but most are ex display or cancelled orders)

    http://www.theusedkitchencompany.com/#/kitchens-for-sale/4534241764

The first couple of pages are expensive ones but the affordable ones start on about page three and some of them are amazing for the money.

...thanks RPC, but Mrs HM insisting on curved units to stop that "cabinet's gonna cut you in the groin:eek:" look as you enter our smallish kitchen.
