  • Tea bags? With £3 for two weeks? Come on, water out of the kitchen tap is free. Any other drink is a waste of money on this sort of budget.

Well I do already have some tea bags. (Otherwise they definetly wouldn't be on my priorities list admittedly!)

Anyway - I just wanted to thank all the people who sent me such lovely PM's. The kindness of strangers (if I can call you that, it's not fully appropriate) is overwhelming.

I will make sure that when I am able to I pass this kind of kindness on to others who need it.

If you can get some cheap veg and you already have things like pasta, rice and stuff for flavouring I would make a huge pot of soup which will last about 3/4 days and as someone said you could get some cheap bread when the supermarket has closed. There has been many a time when I have survived on soup and bread.

  • Without wanting to offend any sensibilities, I knew a girl in college who considered loo roll to be a luxury...she used a washcloth and rinsed it out wherever possible, and for everything else she used the public loos after class!

You can but lots of cheap noodles for 10p each and put baked beans on them it not very healthy but you will burn it off with all the walking .

I would go to the supermarket before they closed to get all cheap products and have you ask the bank for a small overdraft to cover you to payday.

    Good luck

Urghh!! Is that not going a little far?!! I would take the advice offered on her and 'borrow' some from work or public loo's. What would you do if you had guest?!

wish we could all send you £1 via paypal or something...! (if we all had it spare!)

That's what I was going to suggest! Even if people made a small donation, say even 25p or 50p, it would soon mount up. The only problem is it takes a few days after you withdraw to reach your bank account, but it could work.

If you are comfortable with this, I would be happy to help in this way and I'm sure others would too. :T would we be allowed?

Walkers (the rambler types who wear anoraks, not the potato crisp makers) use lumberjack toilet paper.....

also known as leaves. I kid you not.

i once had beans and pasta when i had no money - it was ok!
I worked in a high school kitchen last year. We had pasta and 2 nice homemade sauces on offer. A lot of the teenagers had pasta and beans which I thought was a horrible combination but they loved it! Cheap and filling especially at the end of the week when they were running out of credit and could not afford anything else. Some parents set a limit to the amount they could spend each week.

we have all been the position of having no money but for most of us we have the local support in the form of family or something. so because i got extra special support i am more than glad to return the favour to someone else in need of it.
