I can send you some stuff over too, flavoured cous cous type things, also got an angel delight that I bought for a friend that doesn't seem to want it makes 10 servings. We have more than enough in as we were eating in twice a day now it's just the once. Let me know if there's anything in particular as I'm at my parents and my mums used to me taking stuff, especially loo roll!
Can also vouch for the porridge, you can make it up with water, and add coffee mate if you happen to have some lying around :o
  • I must say this is the greatest thread ever. Who would've thought there were so many lovely and clever people?

Thanks to the offers of food, but I'm not 100% sure I would feel right accepting it. You are all very kind though.
i once had beans and pasta when i had no money
I did do that a few times as a student. Probably would do it again, it's not bad.
Also, have you ordered the free fruit pack from Graze?

Done! This is right up my street - I love nuts and fruit and things like that.
reuse you t bag - only use 1 bag per 3 cups for example

hey! I already do that! I drink super-weak black tea so I can make a tea bag last a whole day (I reccomend highly btw - even if you like strong tea you can get two cups)
Where abouts in Wales, are you?

To test, I get a shop for a small amount (eg £2-3) and give them £2 of coupons and see what happens, just so I don't have to pay a big bill if they turn around and say no

I was thinking of using this technique too.
see if your friend with the allotment has a spare cabbage

Going mad - thought that said "space cabbage"....

I am going to have to post daily now to tell you all what I'm eating aren't I?

None of us want to see you struggling, most of us have been in this position. We are only talking about some value packets of food so don't be too flattered :rotfl:

ooh - just thought, Tesco do value soup (tomato or chicken) which is actually really nice! Its very cheap (about 15p I think) and would fill you up with some bread x

Tea bags? With £3 for two weeks? Come on, water out of the kitchen tap is free. Any other drink is a waste of money on this sort of budget.

OP you can certainly use shower gel as shampoo, I do sometimes. Some of them are better than others, give it a try.

You can drink cooled water from the kettle rather than tap water as the warmth helps when you're not eating much
