• I'm not aware of any postings by David or what he has said, can you link me to these posts?

Here is what we say on our contact system currently: "We aim to respond to your query as soon as possible although delays may occur during busy periods."

We are busy at the moment but most inquiries do get answered within 1-3 days when possible. We've recently taken on a new CS member which will reduce this timescale once she is up to speed.

Kind regards,
James
Not sure why you want to deny that David McMillan posted an excuse for Selectspecs delays or to avoid confirming that Selectspecs physical address is 22, Roxburgh Road, Westgate on Sea, Kent CT8 8RX. As already stated, David McMillan posted on 22/9/09. You don't deal with the problems people are having with your customer service - it is a fact that you have a misleading phone number as it is listed on your website but refers customers back to the website. If you are purely an internet company with no human voice contact possible, why not be upfront and honest about it and not pretend to be contactable by phone? Your approach frustrates people, as can be seen from these forums and others on the net. Hiding behind a box number also causes people concern. You or one of your colleagues posted on MSF some time ago that Selectspecs was working on having a proper physical address. What's the problem? What goes on at 22, Roxburgh Road, Westgate on Sea, Kent CT8 8RX?

I've just placed the order for the Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses , I sent you a reply to the confirmation email I received after I placed the order. On the website when I placed the order, the website showed me the confitmation of my order with a different description for the sunglasses, and I don't want something to go wrong, in the confirmation email the description is correct. Please make sure to ship the MMJ 112/s model in black and silver .

Thanks Razvan Toma

Hi Razvan,

I have this colour option on order, is this correct?

I've not denied that he has posted, I'm just not aware, that is why I was asking for a link to see what he had said as I'm the only one that replies on here.

Our phone number is not listed on our website, we removed this some time ago, we still have a number for faxing us. As stated on our contact page "In order to keep costs low for our customers and to continue to offer the best deals we do not currently offer phone support"

We've had a PO Box address since we started in 2004 but this will change to a physical address shortly due to worries from our customers.

Kind regards,
James

• Actually you have not removed the phone number although you did change one instance of your address on 27th September - a quick fix to deal with the issues raised in this forum. It only goes to show how useful MoneySavingExpert is for dealing with customer service problems. You still quote your PO Box and phone number in your terms and conditions - see

Thanks Outspoken, I'll get this changed as well. All other instances of our phone number should have been removed but obviously this one was missed. :)

Personally, I think it is awful that folk should need to use a forum like this to sort out customer service issues, when there should be an effective means of dealing with you directly.
Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

I wasn't sure about ordering with Selectspecs after reading this thread but as I have -9 hi index lenses I had a very limited choice. I ordered designer glasses on 5th Sept and they arrived today, so it took almost one month, but after reading this thread I wasn't expecting them to arrive quickly.
I've had to send a few emails, which is fine once you get the hang of how to use the help section, but not easy to start with, they seem to think there FAQ's will answer every eventuality, obviously they don't!
I received replies to all queries, I think 2 days was the maximum it took to reply on one occasion.
Overall i'm pleased with my glasses and if i'm not in a hurry I would use them again.

Hi James

If a pair of glasses are showing as discontinued, is that something permanent or would stock come in eventually?

Thanks
• I bought a pair of bi-focals. arrived after about 3 weeks. Seemed like the wrong prescription. I sent them back - my postage was refunded and I got a new, perfect set of spectacles in another 3 weeks.
My experience is that the fixed a problem quickly, without quibblin. I'd use them again.
