Glasses....anyone buy from Selectspecs or eyewearcentre?

I have had nothign but trouble with Selectspecs.com. I think they are a bunch of con artists. My glasses took a month to arrive (even though they take payment instantly) and when I complained they replied once and ignored emails after that. Once I had finally received them they were not what I expected. I paid for them to be thinned and they were not thinned at all, the lenses were so thick it was unbelieveble! But there is no number to call so I emailed them and yet again they have ignored me! I am having to go through my credit card company and claim the money back that way. I would advise anyone against using them! They should be shut down!

Sorry to hear this, can you give me your order number so I can look into this. Orders usually take approximately 2 weeks to arrive but depending on prescription and item ordered there may be some extension to this time scale, there is also the possibility of a delay in delivery if coming from our Hong Kong lab. I can't comment on your lenses at this stage as I'm not sure on what options were selected.

I'm now getting worried about this outfit....
Ordered some designer glasses and a pair of the £5 cheapees.
Email on 23rd Aug said designer glasses have been dispatched (from HK even though all info says designer stuff comes from UK), and will take 3-7 days and defo by 10 days.
So worried about this looked for email contact address and no where to be found on their website. Does anyone have their email address so I can contact them and find out about their legendary customer service response times.0 -
I have ordered from this company twice before and it took 3 weeks for delivery but other than that there were no problems0

I'm just about to send my own frames off to have the lenses fitted - not sure what to do now.
Just an update to say I duly sent off my own frames for re-glazing (carried out in the UK) and received an excellent service from SelectSpecs.

I've ordered from Selectspecs and order was received in 2 weeks. For the cost the glasses have lasted a long time.Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0

I see what the issue is, the £5 pair are sent from Hong Kong and the designer is sent out from the UK, as far as I'm aware your account should specify this when they are shipped. If you can give me your order number I can double check this is correct and if not, have the problem fixed.

I still am unable after about 60 mins of searching to get any idea what your email address is to contact you. The "contact us" merely directs me to a load of questions and whenever I click on the email icon, it brings me straight back to the FAQ's again !!!:(:(:(0 -

I've checked this for you and both the selected glasses are from our own branded collections, this is why they are marked as shipped from Hong Kong.
Regarding email, as stated previously we do not give out an email address, you need to select the category and subject your question is related to then complete a form to contact us. You can even contact us directly from your order within your account.

I ordered glasses for my husband on 21st July 2010. Six weeks later (1st Sept) there was no sign of them, so we sent them an email and we are still waiting for them to respond to it.
We are now disputing this purchase through our credit card company.
They may be cheap but they take the money and do not deliver the goods or explain what is happening to the order.0
