I've just looked online and someone else has taken them through the small claims court and won for a similar problem. I've had a quick look and it looks like its going to cost me £27 to do this - out of principle I am going to go down this route. Thanks guys!
If you win and i have no doubt you will, then you will get your costs returned to you. Good luck.
Gotta be honest though, i bought a suitcase, the zip wouldnt work properly and they exchanged it, no problem and were very apologetic.
So i have never had a problem withthem.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

As a Mackem I'll admit I shop at Sports Direct on occasion - purely and simply to financially reward dear Mr Ashley for services to amusing all Wearsiders
Still reckon the busted bike is worth more than Newcastle United.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -

If it were me I'd take it on the chin and fix the gears. Probably just needs setting up.
When you bought the bike did it say ready to ride, or that it may need some preparation?.....0 -

My OH has tried to fix the gears - but the chain still falls off. Theres no way I am paying someone to fix it - would probably cost at least £20 (if it can be fixed) - and on a £50 bike - not worth it. I would rather get my own back on a company that cannot be bothered to respond to its customers. Personally I won't miss the £50 - but I cannot believe they haven't responded at at least 1 of the 4 emails that I have sent them. (and by searching on the net - seems like I'm not the only one who has had problems!)0 -
Would you like some help in fixing the gears/chain?.....0
