Oh!!!!!! you are al soooo good. I just muddle along. My new daily mantra, I must get organised, I must get organised, I must
The time will come when you have everything but time.0 -
rosieben - love your idea:T
I currently have a gardening journal every year and note down what we plant, when it fruits or flowers etc. plus photos we take of various parts of the garden
A4 binder for utility bills and miscellaneous bits and bobs, receipts and stuff
Filing cabinet for insurances, bank stuff
Section for car details
Gardening stuff -magazines with stuff in I like that are too bit for my journal
Christmas folder of stuff I make
Book with birthdays and addresses in
Was looking for something in my A4 binder yesterday and its such a mess and not really big enough.
On holiday I found some cheap really pretty ring binders that I could do more with. There's a lot of 'list' pages on Microsoft word that I could print out and use......Medical would be handy for a start plus emergency phone numbers, stuff like that so seeing this thread has prompted me to have a go with that.
Thanks:TI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I've been looking at the printable sheets on organised home. They look great ut I don't want to print off and fill in all the time. Perhaps I could fill them in and laminate them, though of course I can't then add to them....
Maybe I will just put them in plastic envelope things.
My DH is PC based and if its not on a spreedsheet etc then it doesn't exsist, so I'm going to have to find a way of bridging those 2 things.....0 -
Do you have Onenote Frankie? I discovered that when we got an updated version of Office. It's in a sort of notebook format and you can add all sorts of things to it. I have notebooks for all sorts of things. Very easy to clip things from the internet, make lists etc.0
-
ktpie, yes I do. I've just found it and am having a look.
What kind of notebooks do you have, if you don't mind me asking.
It looks like a great alternative to my pukka pad, though I guess there is no sharing facility, but thats probably ok.0 -
Sorry Frankie, managed to miss this!
How did you find using it? I have a general one, a household one and a gardening one. I used to have paper notebooks all over the place with random lists and notes in, find this much easier and organised, not so easy to lose!
I like the way you can easily move the pages about and the Windows S button thing for taking screen clippings is handy as well. Easy to insert scans, links etc. I find it good for gathering lots of information from the internet without having to print loads out.
I think it's fairly easy to share notebooks on the same computer but not so sure about sharing between computers, we tried it but didn't get very far.0 -
I'm still tinkering with it.
I have put my cleaning routines on and meal ideas and recipes. Also To Do lists and To Buy lists, though they are a bit tricker and probably need to be in a notebook so I have them on me when I need them.
I'm sure if I found the right notebook, then I would use that quite alot but its quite nice having everythng in one place on my pc too.0 -
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to say that I love my home binder - had never considered on ebefore I found the concept on MSE and OrganisedHome...
On my blog I have some pics of what mine looks like, it may help someone else:

i am the kind of person that needs it printed rather than on a pc - as printed I can easily grab and leaf through, it has helped me make muffins 'on a whim' and all sorts, just because the folder was within reach... I have my homemade washing up / handwash recipes in there, as well as personal beauty recipes etc like cleanser etc.
Would love to see some pics of what others do and what you include as sections...MFW #185

I have a fab thing called a life book from www.organisedmum.co.uk My friend, who is well aware of how rubbish I am, got it for me just before my lo arrived and it has been good although I haven't used anything like all the features that it has. IT has a four month overlap, Christmas pages, dividers, pockets for paperwork, tear out shopping lists, tear out to do lists PLUS my favourite bit - STICKERS, loads of stickers..*blushes* is it wrong to get excited about that.... it's great for someone who is not big on organisation and someone can buy it for you for a pressie.Well behaved women rarely make history.0

I second the organised mum diary :T I've used in since Jan to keep organised in work and its been great, everyone comments on it. Have to admit I didn't keep up with the stickers though
Fab thread, thank you everyone, my next goal is to get a home manual set up, I love lists so I can't wait :T
Rosie would you still be able to pm/email that thread off organized home, I would love a read through.
On Dragons Den last night there was a website where you could store your favourite recipes, not had a good look yet, but I have a pile of recipes i've printed off here and the internet so would love to organise them so they are easy to find the one I want quickly.
