Thanks for the good wishes for my aged collie...nearly took him to the vet's today, but neither DH nor I really wanted to, so he's reprieved for another day. Just wish I could feel convinced that we're keeping him for him rather than because we don't want to lose him (if that makes sense!).
I am sure that your old lad will let you know when he has had enough. There is something in the eyes that says "it's too much for me now mum" and you will know. After all, you don't live with a fella for 16 years and not know them do you?Murphy was an optimist!!!0 -
:hello:Good evening! Welcome to our new posters
I tried to post this morning, but the screen froze so I couldn't send the post  Hope this one will work!
(((HUGS))) beemuzed, I agree with what Morag says. I suppose it's a question of whether he still has some quality of life. A couple of years ago we had to have both our beloved cats put to sleep within a week. Not nice.
((((HUGS)))) Snoozer and fairyelephant
Lemon verbena, thriftlady, reverbe - I think it sounds lovely to have fruit trees in the street, but I don't think it would ever happen as people might slip on the windfalls - I love the idea of guerilla gardening though
kjsam nice to see you!
Penny_Pincher - i hope you feel better tomorrow and can crack on with your essay.
scuzz - Glad your doggie is going to be ok!
LW I hope you get another "sittee" soon!
(((HUGS))) to anyone else who needs some and who i missed!
Not done much today, I really need to iron a couple of tops but just can't face it. I've got 2 seersucker shirts which never need ironing, so will wash those tomorrow
I washed bedding today.
I'm making chicken curry for dinner and am a bit peeved as I hadn't noticed when I bought them that S'burys' cartons of chopped tomatoes are smaller than the cans  - now I'm not sure whether to open a second one or make one carton do! I think one will have to do for now, and I'll add extra stock if necessary. (I could have sworn that the first time I bought the cartons they were actually bigger than the cans
- downsizing I suppose!)
Better go and start cooking as DH who has been lying down with a bad headache sounds as if he's getting up.0 -
Evening all
Snoozer hope your delivery has arrived by now (((Hugs)))
(((Hugs))) to all who need or want them.
Have been in the garden this evening and YEY got the first of my home grown potatoes - I'm so thrilled:j:j:j. Lots more yet to be dug up - can't wait to taste them:D Think it will have to be salmon for tea tomorrow with new pots and roast veg so that I can use lots of my home grown toms up too! This is the first year I have grown my own veg (other than toms) and I can't believe how exciting it is when you actually get something you can eat!! (I know silly really!)
Been at the hospital all afternoon for a pre-op,, was given a date for 21 Sept then they decided that because of my very (very) poor sleep patterns that I might have sleep apnoea(sp) and it could affect the anaesthetic so I have to go back and get a monitor to wear in bed to see about my sleeping habits:eek: The plot thickens!!!!!
Oh well will take my poor sleeping habits to bed now:rotfl: see how long I can stay awake tonight:rotfl:
Have a good night all
x"Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you are up to........"

I agree, I had to have our cat, Stanley (fat, not flat as in the book) put down shortly before moving 50 miles away into DF's home 3 years ago. You are right about the look in the eyes - he was almost 13 & TBH I don't think he fancied getting to grips with a new house & patch at his time in life.
P.S. Forgot to say, I "harvested" my first 2 2009 h/g toms today

Oh, that will be fun for you!
I managed to plan my monitor-night to when OH was away with work, as it isn't the most flattering night-time attire  2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Hi everyone,
I'm also feeling a bit sorry for myself because it's our 30th anniversary today and we were going out to a posh restaurant to celebrate, so that's off now. DH told me to expect a delivery but nothing's come as yet so that's left me a bit flat as well.
Oh well, plenty worse off than me - must go and peg out the sheets.
See you later.
Congratulations. Have one of these. :EasterBun Hope your dad improves & maybe you'll be able to celebrate on the weekend.
Off to hang out the washing now. I'll come back and chat when everyone's awake.
Nighty nite. Byeeeeeeeeeeee Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.
