Oh buddiebabe I can see why you would feel strange - a home visit from a boss is certainly unusual. But hold onto the bright positive first of May feeling. It doesn't necessarily have to mean bad news.
The meeting could be a good opportunity to tell her how you feel more generally than the recent heartbreak. Could you tell her how frustrated you were about being passed over for promotion etc and find out whether she thinks there are other opportunities for you there?
Good luck with all the cleaning. Sort the unsellable stuff first and take it to the nearest skip or bin - that will free up space for the rest.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

When i was passed over for promotion i went and spoke to her so she knows how i felt at the time and we had a really long discussion about it.
If it was my line manager coming to see me i wouldn't be that worried but cause its the head of the service its worrying me. The only time that anyone's ever had a home visit is when they have been off long term sick... i've only been off 6 days  The only thing is they are taking sickness very seriously at the moment and i was off in November last year for a week due to the flu / cold.
Im just going to have some lunch and relax for a while, try not to think about it, and then make a start with the tidying. I figure if i can just pile it all up in the bedroom and fling a cover over it i can always sort it all out at a later date... only problem is i don't know if there's enough space in the bedroom:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi there
I don't think you have anything to worry about - you've only been off twice, once with flu and once following an extreme emotional shock.
They probably have a rigid policy that gets triggered if you take a certain number of days off, but you have good reason, so you don't need to worry. Easier said than done I know.
What time is she coming? Post on here and we'll send you good vibes.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
hey
She's coming at 3pm she said she could come earlier but i told her with these tablets im unlikely to be awake before 11 am!!
I know im probably worrying about nothing but i'll post as soon as she leaves 2moro and let you know what was said

I think if it was very bad news, she wouldn't come to your home, she would write to you, or summon you in for a meeting etc, because she would need a witness to anything that was said. Hopefully it is just genuine concern for your wellbeing. After only 6 days off there shouldn't be anything to worry about. Try not to worry too much and let us know how you go on."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Well im just having a well earned coffee break. I've spent the last 2 hours moving boxes, clearing a space in the living room so at least there is somewhere to sit 2moro!
I can just about still get into the bedroom, its now piled high with boxes of stuff to sort through but that can all be done at a later date....
The good thing about it is that at least if anyone pops round or wants to come and visit me then at least the living room is going to be tidy. I cant believe the amount of stuff i have (most of its junk to me but will be someone elses ebay's treasure... well i live in hope)
Its going to be easier for me to go through them if i only have to bring one box through to list on ebay rather than having them all lying about the room.
One question... should i take down the pin board beside the computer?? It has my calander with my crosses through it for all the days i've not gambled, the list of my outstanding debts and my list of things to do. I don't really want to take it down but if i leave it up it might not go down 2 well with my boss..... or should i just turn things over so she can't see them

Just turn them over - it's your home remember, she hasn't got any right to snoop around."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Hi BB,
I agree with Snaggles. If it was any sort of warning, even a verbal one, they would have to give you the oppotunity of having a witness or union rep if you have one.
It is more likely they are very worried about you and are making sure you are ok to come back to work.
If I am wrong and she tries to give you a warning then ask to do it when you get back into work with a colleague present (as per your rights).
I hope you are as well as possible.
I would keep track of how much you get from his stuff and that way if you do decide you want to treat yourself with some/all of the cash you will know how much you have to play with.

Thanks for that
I have decided there is no point in worrying about it if its bad then its bad but chances are its just to see if im ok.... only thing is i don't know if im 100% comfortable talking to her about what happened... its different telling friends and everyone on here but i wouldn't normally tell her personal stuff so will just need to play it by ear 2moro and see what happens.
As for selling his stuff on ebay... i've decided its not his stuff... i bought and paid for it all so in effect it was always mine!!! he never saw half of it or knew about it so thats settled!!!
I am keeping a note of all the money that is made through ebay, however, am finding it almost impossible to get the figures to add up at the end of the day.
This is how i work out what comes in (well the spreadsheet does):
I take the amount it sold for and the postage to give the total amount paid then deduct the listing fee, final value fee and paypal fee and actual cost of posting the item which gives me the total amount I receive.
I also have a calculation that takes the postage paid less the postage cost less 50p (25p for mum and 25p for me) to give me the profit made on postage. - the reason i take 25p for mum is that she posts all the parcels so for every parcel she does i put 25p into a bank account for her and she gets it at xmas the 25p for me helps pay for packaging costs The postage profit i usually split between my Barclaycard and MBNA card it only ever works out at around £1 for every four or five parcels but every little helps.
Once i have done the above i take the total amount less the 50p less the postage profit and the remaining amount is the total i have made on the item. Which usually goes into my alliance and leicester account.
When the money comes through from Paypal i always give my mum the exact amount she has spent on postage..... which gives her a postage float of £40.
Now this is where the problem lies at the moment. I have withdrawn a total of £100 from paypal in the last week and have paid the majority of my fees to ebay, however, with all the listing im doing its costing me a small fortune at the moment i have an outstanding ebay fee balance of £4.63. I have nothing left in my Paypal account but am waiting for payment for 4 items probably by paypal which should clear this balance.
I currently have 305 items listed with a selling total of £81.24 (only 22 items selling).
When the paypal money clears i will need to give my mum back the money for postage and pay the total of the 25p's into the two accounts.
Now i know there's not going to be enough left for the postage profit or the money to go into the alliance and leicester account.
I really should get to the point... shouldn't i!!! My question is as follows what should i do??
Should i:
a) pay my mum the postage back, pay the 25p's into the accounts and then split the remaining money between Barclaycard, MBNA and alliance and leicester (which would all be overpayments)
b) pay my mum the postage back, pay the 25p's into the accounts and then draw a line under the items that i have sold and received the money for so far and put the remaining money back into my Halifax account to repay some of the money i borrowed last week
c) pay my mum the postage back, pay the 25p's into the accounts, fill up the car with petrol and then put the rest away in my halifax account
d) pay my mum the postage back, pay the 25p's into the accounts and then spend the rest on me
or
e) stop going on about it and just use the remaining money to pay the bills

I am pretty useless with exact budgeting. For someone who has excellent maths skills and can do all kinds of complicated things with integrals I would stop worrying exactly what to do with the pots of ebaying money.
It is half price listing day on thursday this week so bare that in mind if you need to relist things!
Just make sure you have them ending about 8.30 for prime ebaying audiences! Or probably 7.30-8pm if you are trying to attract men as they will be ebaying to avoid coronation street.
It is entirely your stuff you are right. I sold my exs modem on ebay, it only went for 8 pounds inc p&p but it was worth it as it made me feel good ripping him off! Still I used the money for a little treat for myself!Debt Free - done
