The debt management is always an option for you to think about later if needed - the more you pay off now yourself, the better the debt management plan will be if you ever come to doing it (and the less years it will take to clear the debt management plan).

Well done on your payments to date - what with the stress at work being less now and the payments you have made already, plus the fact you have quit gambling, you should be feeling so proud of yourself - I know I am!

    Thanks EagerLearner

Im glad that i looked into the debt management plan idea and now know how i would go about it if i really needed to.

Well i had my last bet on the 4th of April so thats been a full month since i've gambled :j i know its only been 30 days but its 30 days of not worrying about how im going to win back what i've just spent. Its not been an easy month for me and i only thought about it a few times during the really stressful first few days of finding out about my ex but apart from that i've not wanted to gamble at all. So im optimistic that i can do this especially as i do not intend to have any similar experiences ever again (well i certainly hope not)

I've managed to make quite a bit on my ebay sales with one cd selling for over £20 and I've transferred £119 out of my Paypal account last night, however at least £40 - £50 will need to be used to repay the postage that will have been paid out.

I've still got 301 items listed and 23 selling for £45.11 (in total) 40 odd items finish today and something finishing every day for the next ten days. Im only going to re-list the items once unless they have had people watching them. I still have all the boxes piled high in the bedroom to go through but no enough motivation to get on with it :o Im going to set myself a target of at least sorting out one box tonight, 2moro and monday (im working in my 2nd job during the day) so will set aside an hour at night to go through the box. Even if its only deciding to keep, fling it out, donate to charity or put it on ebay and if i get the time then i can put it on ebay... well thats the plan anyway.

So for tonight i want to:

    - Sort out one box
    - Do 20 competitions
    - sort out ebay paperwork
    - Do pigsback/quidco clicks & competitions

Anyway better think about getting ready for work

It's good that you've checked out dmps and decided they're not for you - as eager learner says you can investigate again in future if circumstances change.

Good luck with the ebay listings. Can you do a carboot sale with all the things that wouldnt fetch much on ebay? It would save the hassle of posting things.

I've got one thing on ebay at present and it's selling at £52!!! I'm so chuffed! This is a one off though, I haven't had so much luck with ebay before.

That's great about your ebay item. I usually sell stuff on ebay for 99p or a few pounds but some of the stuff i have at the moment you can't get in the shops now (its simpsons stuff and some dance CDs) so its been quite good getting rid of that stuff. The only thing thats at the back of my mind is that i only have so much stuff and once it runs out what am i going to do??

I love doing car boot sales but go with my mum and as we both work in the same shop and we only get the one sunday off together, however, that may change soon. Yesterday at work my boss asked me if i would work every 2nd Sunday instead of one in 3. It would mean more money but it would also mean me working 7 days then a sunday off then working for 13 days before i get my next day off. He's going to speak to me about it on Monday so i'll see what he can come up with if i can maybe get a saturday off in place of it.

Well so much for me doing the things i wanted to get done my sorting out or my competitions i just came home last night and watched tv, read my emails and did my ebay paperwork so it wasn't all bad. I will need to get on with things so i can get some more money coming in.

Im working today but finish at 5.30 so i'll have a few hours tonight to get some stuff done .... honest :o

    Tonight i will

    - sort out one box
    - sort out top tray of paperwork
    - quidco clicks
    - ironing for work

    HI buddiebabe

Did you agree to work the extra Sundays?

Having only one day off a fortnight sounds really punishing - I certainly don't think you should plan to do it indefinitely. If you can stand it for a short period, it could be a good way to boost the debt repayments until you get to a particular milestone.

But I don't think you should live a life with no time for relaxation or fun! As someone wrote on some other thread - we're in debt, not prison.

    Hiya Seaxwyn

I said i would consider doing every second sunday if they gave me one full weekend off a month so for the extra sunday i'd get a saturday off but was told that they need me on a saturday too  i cant win!

Its good to know im valued and that they want me to work with them but one weekend off a month is not much to ask for in my opinion.

I have no idea what to do... it's been left without a decision at the moment so will wait and see what happens. I would like the extra money so that i can pay the extra towards my debt but i'd also like some time to myself.

I feel like im not coping too well im ok when im at work but not when im in the car driving or at home when i go to my bed at night theres too much time for thinking about things and i end up crying myself to sleep. Everyone at work thinks im doing really well but i know im not coping. I just feel so alone. Im so scared im never going to find someone. I know i shouldn't even be thinking about it at the moment but it scares me that i'll end up alone.

Im supposed to be going out on Saturday night but i really don't think im ready for it. I've got an appointment to get my hair cut on Friday but have no idea what i want done.... i just feel like i have to do something. Its really long about half way down my back but it just hangs there and everyone keeps telling me to do something with it. He always told me to keep my hair long as that was the way he liked it. I don't think i could get it all cut off but i need to do something. Any ideas???

I get paid on Sat and i have some overtime from last month to get so some of this is going towards the haircut.

    Sorry for the long post

You are coping, but you have to give yourself time to heal. It still hurts, but that doesn't mean you're not coping.

You won't end up alone. You're a lovely person, and that won't happen to you.

However, you've got to be careful that you don't throw yourself at the first one that shows an interest. Window-shop for a while. Have a good long feel of the merchandise, so you end up getting one of real quality.

Ask your hairdresser - they should be able to give you good advice on it.

You could go for a mullet...

Hiya, it sounds as if they really want you in that 2nd job, so you have some negotiating power. You can insist on the weekend off - it's definitely not too much ask. You're not a machine.

Good idea getting your hair cut. It always a boost, and a new look would symbolise the beginning of the new phase in your life. Could you ask some of the people who say you should do something with it what they would suggest - you might get some good ideas that way. Otherwise ask the hairdresser. You can definitely freshen up your look without cutting it short.

I think you're coping well too. It will take time to get over the pain but you will get there. And I'm sure you will meet someone too - and this time someone who deserves you and appreciates you.

You don't wanna be doing that, as Harry Enfield (back in the days when he was close to being funny) would say...

Yep - dinner is important, don't want to be hearing any of this "I'm not eating" stuff...
