Thanks for all your kind words... am still not feeling too good but sitting thinking about things aren't going to help.
I've written down everything i owe out and its not a pretty sight. I've done a new snowball calculation and if i can pay £600 towards my debt it will take 86 months to clear.... June 2014  which seems like a lifetime away. Its over 7 years away and by the time i pay it off im going to be 36.
So the worst of it is as follows:
OVERDRAFTS:
ALLIANCE & LEICESTER £-280.46 LIMIT £300 APR 0% UNTIL AUG 07 THEN 6%
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND £-1000 LIMIT £1000 APR 29.8%
TOTAL OVERDRAFTS OUTSTANDING: £-1280.46 LIMITS £1300.00 (19.54 AVAILABLE)
CREDIT CARDS:
BARCLAYCARD £5053.02 LIMIT £5700.00 APR 22.9%
DEBENHAMS £1920.00 LIMIT £2500.00 APR 0% UNTIL DEC 07 THEN 18.9%
MBNA £4573.63 LIMIT £5000.00 APR 22.5%
MORGAN STANLEY £2000.00 LIMIT £2400.00 APR 16.6%
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND £9846.00 LIMIT £10000.00 APR 17%
SKY £1500.00 LIMIT £2000.00 APR 26.5%
TESCO £2333.97 LIMIT £2400.00 APR 15.75%
TOTAL CREDIT CARDS OUTSTANDING: £27226.62 LIMITS £30000.00 (£2773.38 AVAILABLE)
 TOTAL AMOUNT OUTSTANDING £28507.08:eek:
SAVINGS:
£151.00 DUNFERMLINE (this is for my house, tv licence, insurance etc)
£260.00 HALIFAX (this is for my car, road tax, insurance, service, MOT etc)
£163.00 WORK ACCOUNT (savings for xmas £25 comes out of wages every month for this. It will pay for food, xmas nite out, an outfit and birthday / xmas presents)
£46.20 Other works account (this is used for postage for ebay)
TOTAL SAVINGS £620.20
I was up at 6.30 this morning to go and do a car boot sale and didn't get home until 5.30 (11 hours) but managed to make £110.00 :T so it was worth it but im absolutely shattered now
Not sure where the money is going to go yet but i've got my credit card bills to pay so will put it in the bank and use it to pay towards the minimum payments for my cards.
Im going to close all my betting accounts. I was thinking about trying matched betting with everyone going on about how much money they have made but to be honest the temptation is too much. Im also going to contact the credit card companies and see if they can put a block on any gambling transactions so that i couldn't use them for this even if i wanted to.... will let you know how i get on with this. I had an email from one of them to say there should be £100 credit in my account 2moro as a bonus. Im going to get my sister to log in and see if it can be withdrawn if its possible then thats what she's going to do if not then she will spend it. Once thats gone the account will be closed.
Im off work 2moro so am going to list some stuff on ebay that didn't sell at the car boot sale. Im also going to spend time entering some competitions (as i've not been motivated to do that either)
This is going to be a better month.... well i can live in hope

AHEM! Thirty-six is not a lifetime away!
How about putting the APR's on the credit cards? Also have you phoned them asking for rate reductions?buddiebabe wrote: »This is going to be a better month.... well i can live in hope

36 seems like a lifetime away.... im not even 30 yet ... not that it bothers me getting old it just seems like im going to be missing out on the next 7 years while i try and pay everything off
I will edit my last post to give the APR's. I haven't phoned them and asked to reduce the rate... i'd never thought to do that before... is there anything i should be saying to them??

When you get there, you'll wonder well the hell the time went. Not that I'm there yet...buddiebabe wrote: »I will edit my last post to give the APR's. I haven't phoned them and asked to reduce the rate... i'd never thought to do that before... is there anything i should be saying to them??
Start a new thread, asking for advice on that - probably more people will see it that way way."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Just been playing around with the snowball calculator and its amazing how much of a difference an extra £50 can make to your debt free date:rolleyes:
If i pay £600 per month it will take 86 months - June 2014
If i pay £650 per month it will take 74 months - June 2013
If i pay £700 per month it will take 65 months - September 2012
If i pay £750 per month it will take 57 months - January 2012
If i pay £800 per month it will take 51 months - July 2011
Only problem is i have a hard enough job trying to find £600 let alone any extra but it makes interesting reading
I think im going to aim for the £650.00 per month and then my debt free date would only be 5 months after my 35th birthday and thats not as bad as 36 :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Need to come up with some legal non gambling related ways to make some moneyany ideas ????
Am off to bed now before i fall asleep in front of the pc
nite nite

Hi buddiebabe
Well done on the bootsale, that's a huge amount!
And well done closing the betting accounts.
Definitely phone and try to get the APRs reduced. I did that successfully with Abbey following reading advice on the credit card boards here.
Age is not such a big deal. 36 seems quite young to me now. I'm 43 and [STRIKE]hoping[/STRIKE] planning to be debt-free by 50.
I know what you mean about missing out on life while you get there, I feel the same and am trying to factor in enough fun and relaxation so life doesn't seem totally dominated by work and money. Free things like going for a walk on a sunny Sunday can make a huge difference to your outlook all week.
For money-making ideas, what about baby-sitting, waitressing, dog-walking? Something not involving a computer to give you a break from the ebaying and comping. I spend all my life sitting in front of a computer and I think it does your head in frankly.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Well i didn't get anything done that i wanted to today. I spent the morning in bed .... i must have needed my sleep.
Im going to aim to pay £650.00 towards my debts every month as it will bring my debt free date down by a year.
So target for this month is £650.00
Payments made to date £9.86
Still to pay this month £640.14
I have £100 that is in my RBS account at the moment but im going to use that to pay towards my barclaycard but can't do it just yet as a cheque i've paid into my account hasn't cleared yet and i've got direct debits that are due to come off so don't want to use the £100 until the cheque has cleared.
Am going to have to put some new things on ebay at some point this week i've got quite alot of books on at the moment and one selling for 99pbut i suppose every little helps... on the plus side i also found 6p on my way to work tonight
Am going to enter some competitions then its off to bed

have you tried Amazon for books? I've done really well there and there are no charges if they dont sell.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Hey Seaxwyn i've looked into amazon but at the moment id rather just keep going with ebay as id rather know when all my items finish and then i can get rid of them if they are not going to sell rather than keep them lying about for ages ... in saying that they usually end up back on ebay as i never get rid of anything
Well the cheque in my bank cleared so have just paid £120.00 towards my barclaycard so thats the minimum payment for that paid for this month.
£650 target £129.86 paid to date £520.14 still to be paid this month
My minimum payment for my RBS credit card is £221 and my MBNA min payment is £86.79 is sitting in my bank to pay these so once they come off it will mean i'll have paid £437.65 and will only need to find £212.35 to meet my target.... im going to do this as i think my minimum payments will probably exceed this figure anyway
Off to get ready for 2nd job now

Just been checking my online banking and i didn't add up my figures right for my skycard  I forgot to write down 4 transactions i made on my card in my notebook and when i checked my account tonight realised that my skycard balance is actually £1607.12 and not £1500 as previously stated
I can't believe i was so stupid not to write these things down but can understand why i didn't as i really didn't bother with anything at all during those bad days.
Off to update my signature to add another £107.12 to the total debt outstanding. I've amended my snowball calculation and am please to say that even though its an extra £107.12 its still going to take me 86 months to be debt free so it hasn't changed the date.
Just annoyed that i let things get this bad.... never mind just need to keep plodding along to try to reduce things
