Wow £150 brilliant! Do whichever makes you feel more comfortable - but if it was me I think I'd pay it off the RBS o/d if that one is charging interest. You've got a few months to pay off the A&L one.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Well i phoned the bank today and i was told by the girl on the phone she wouldn't be able to reduce my overdraft but that she could arrange an appointment for me to have a review with them to discuss it.
I told her that i wasn't interested so i'd just keep my overdraft at the level its at and if they couldn't reduce it i'd make sure it was paid off asap and then transfer my account elsewhere. She didn't like that so said she would speak to someone and get them to call me back to sort it out for me. I got a phone call half an hour later saying they could probably save me some money if i wanted to go in and talk to them about it. I told them i wasn't interested all i wanted to do was reduce my overdraft and could they do it he was really nice and said it wasn't a problem and if i ever wanted to discuss my accounts just to phone and ask for him.
Anyway my overdraft limit is now £1000 so i've cleared £150.00 of my overdraft today and now have a balance of £150 o/d in my alliance and leicester account - at least i don't get charged for that yet
I put the payment into my snowball calculator and its reduced my debt free date to 76 months now instead of 77 months :j
I've a few items selling on ebay that finish tonight (its all stuff thats been listed before but didn't sell first, second or third time around)
I've not managed any early morning overtime yet but i have put down to work 3 hours Sat at time and a half and 6 hours Sunday at double time again.... i've taken monday off work to recover :rotfl:

I've been so stupid. I've been trying to sort things out but have been feeling really really down over the last few days so i spent some money to make me feel better... it didn't work so i ended up spending more including the money i had available on my sky card.
Its been a really bad few days for me. Im ready to give up now. I don't have the energy for this anymore. I have no time to myself all im doing is working and at the end of the day i have nothing to show for it. Im feeling so low right now.
I go to work everyday and everyone is talking about what a great weekend they've had or what they have planned for the following one. Its got to the stage that they don't even bother to ask me anymore what im doing cause they know the answer will be working. I just feel so alone.
I've been losing weight recently but its not due to me not eating but some of the comments i've had to put up with lately just hurt i walked into work the other night to the comment "here comes the skeleton" I managed to get up the stairs before i started to cry.
I heard some of the girls talking about me at work today saying how im doing there heads in just by being there, they forgot i was just filing and only round the corner from them and these are people i have to sit beside every day .... i just cant take it anymore.
Im going to go to bed and try and get some sleep. I really don't feel like going in to work 2moro i really don't know if i can cope with it. Sorry for going on i just don't have anyone else i can talk to

First of all :grouphug:
At some stage you are going to have to stop and take stock of where you are and where you are going. But first - cut up your cards.
Working your fingers to the bone isn't helping you. It's making you miserable and making you want to spend more to cheer yourself up. You have to find a middle ground. I know that's easier said than done, but you do need to find it.buddiebabe wrote: »I go to work everyday and everyone is talking about what a great weekend they've had or what they have planned for the following one. Start taking weekends off for a little bit of R&R. You can't work all the time without going bang.buddiebabe wrote: »I've been losing weight recently but its not due to me not eating but some of the comments i've had to put up with lately just hurt i walked into work the other night to the comment "here comes the skeleton" I managed to get up the stairs before i started to cry.
That was just pure jealousy. Although thinness is not desirable from your point of view, many people see it as an ideal and hence will be jealous. It's up to you what you want your retort to be - whether concilatory or as acidic as mine would be.buddiebabe wrote: »I heard some of the girls talking about me at work today saying how im doing there heads in just by being there, they forgot i was just filing and only round the corner from them and these are people i have to sit beside every day .... i just cant take it anymore.

Oh buddiebabe you poor thing, have a hug.
ZTD is right - those nasty comments are pure jealousy.
You do need a break. Working and ebaying all the time is exhausting you. Is there anything you'd enjoy doing that is free or cheap and would give you a break from constantly thinking about debts and money? That might even free your mind up to look at the situation from a new angle and maybe see a way forward you hadn't thought of before.
Please don't get depressed about this. It's only money and people who make nasty comments are sad creatures and not worth thinking about.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Hi BB - big hug from me too! You have been doing so well lately please don't let other people ruin what you have achieved - think about YOU and what makes YOU proud. You are knocking your debt back and you know what you have to do in order to stay that way - keep the spending down but at the same time do free things you enjoy - maybe:
Take Saturday off and walk to the park
Visit a library and read up on something you enjoy
See local museum or exhibition for free
Meet with family or friends for a chinwag
Investigate something you have always wanted to learn - research online for nothing
Other stuff:
- Contact your mobile co and see if they can reduce your tarriff / move to PAYG if that is cheaper for you
- Stop the Sky - as someone said, you don't have time to watch it
- Get stuff from FreeCycle instead of paying for it
- Only list items on Ebay IF THEY WILL MAKE MORE than £1 profit in your pocket - otherwise, for the stress, listing fees and time it takes, an auction for a small amount is simply not worth it. Calculate what you are worth per hour and this will help you see how much an activity 'costs' you. You may find the time is better spent having a nice relaxing bath and watching Eastenders, or reading a nice book or magazine.
- Your health is important - make sure fresh fruit and veg are on your menu every day - can you get reduced items in your supermarkets mid week after work?
-Install the anti gambling software
There you go - a list of to do things - let us see which ones you plan to do, or let us know what you think could be done to reduce your stress and increase your confidence.MFW #185

Thanks for you kind replies. I had decided to try and sort some things out tonight when i came home from work but nothing ever works out to plan.
I thought i would try and cheer myself up by going for a nice long hot bath and dying my hair to try and make me feel a bit better. Anyway i put the hair dye on and was just about to wash it off when i went into the bathroom and there was water coming down from my ceiling running all the way down the wall  The same thing happened last year and the bathroom was redecorated by the insurance company. Anyway im in my jammies covered in hair dye and had to run up the close stairs to my neighbours with a towel on my head to see what she was doing. It turns out that her bath was full and the water wasn't running away so she was attacking the bath with a plunger  all she said was that she knew and that she wouldn't be able to go for a bath 2moro as she couldn't get clean water.... never mind the water ruining my bathroom again.... she eventually said she'd call out a plumber to get it sorted and put the plug back in the bath.
Anyway i came back down the stairs with my hair dye still in my hair and my head starting to hurt.... washed off the hair dye but my face is all burnt from the dye which was left on my hair too long. The plumber came and asked if he could come in and check my taps but there is nothing wrong with my water just the fact that its coming in through the ceiling!
I don't know what im going to do now the ceiling was only just replastered last year and i really don't have any money that i can pay the insurance any excess.... what should i do??? do i phone the insurance, do i leave it and hope it dries ok... i don't know what to do apart from sit here and cry cause things are going from bad to worse.... i just feel like going to bed and not getting up
I probably won't be updating for a while until i have some good news or some more positive things to say.
Sorry

First of all - you are not liable - your neighbour is. So it comes off her insurance and she will have to pay the excess. Take photos etc, just in case she turns around and says "What bath?" at a later date.buddiebabe wrote: »I probably won't be updating for a while until i have some good news or some more positive things to say.
Don't be silly. Keep talking - it's good to talk, especially if you're Maureen Lipman getting paid loads to make adverts. Or am I just showing my age there? :eek:buddiebabe wrote: »Sorry

Hi BB, don't give up you are doing well. If your neighbour caused the problem surely her insurance company should pay. Debt is ghastly but you are taking stock. Agree that you are working very hard, are you really eating properly? Do you have a market near you? There you can buy lots of cheap fruit and veg. Make soup and freeze it. Instead of spending the money on gambling have you got a college near you that does holistic therapy training. The charges are pretty cheap and you could have a massage or whatever you like. I would give you an Indian Head massage if you lived nearer. Chin up

HI buddiebabe - sorry to hear about the latest blow and hope your burned face is recovering.
If there is any damage it's for your neighbour, not you, to pay. At least she called a plumber which is a good sign.
The joys of home ownership, eh? There's always some problem to sort out. e have damaged ceilings in two rooms from flooding but it was caused by our own bath (and an incompetent plumber we hired grrr) we don't want to claim on our insurance and just live with the resulting stained and cracked plaster and peeling wallpaper. It looks horrible but it's way down the priorities to fix unfortunately. I look back on the days of renting with real longing sometimes.
Please keep posting, it's good to let off steam plus we enjoy keeping up with your progress.
Hope you have a better day and some good luck soonTotal debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620
