A quick question: if you don't already use the make up artist you have booked for your wedding, how have you chosen? I have 2 quotes and I am unsure how to choose between them apart from by looking at the price.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I guess I'd want to know which brands they used and where they did their training? I always use MAC products so wanted a MAC artist, but some local salon artists use Boots, Rimmel etc which I don't think has a lot of staying power. Do you wear makeup generally? Also, if you have a picture of makeup you like you could ask them whether they could do it, a good artist will look at the pics and be able to name products and colours they could use to recreate it.0

I don't wear make up very often and when I do it is very subtle, I use it to enhance what is there rather than being obvious. I think this is why I am finding it hard to make the decision. I think I am going to go for one that my wedding hairdresser told me about. They have 2 salons in our county so it gives me a bit more confidence about their credibility. I am hoping to go and see them soon to discuss things. I really have no idea when the trial should be etcMFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Hi All, It's been a while since I've been on here as trying to not panic how quickly wedding is coming & how much we need to do, but thought it would be useful to catch up
When are you all planning on sending out your invites? I'm a bit stuck on this one!0 -

We are ordering them after we have checked the ceremony time with the venue so will probably send out mid March. Doing them in 2 batches, the ones we have reserved rooms for then the ones we haven't. RSVP date 8 weeks before so we can sort some things for the venue and order our favours.
If you are panicking about the time don't worry, I looked on some of the threads for the months before ours and they have put me at ease.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Hi
I've also not been on here for a while as I've been having a mini meltdown about the amount of time left!
I was going to send out the invites mid-April but ended up posting them this morning. One of the guests rung me a few weeks back to say that she'd had trouble booking accomodation near the venue as it's school holidays. I panicked a bit and decided to send out the invites so that everyone knows that they are invited and that they need to get on and book somewhere to stay!Declutter 100 items in Jan 11/1000 -
Not good...still 4 and a half months to go and I already feel like a kid waiting for Santa to arrive at Christmas. All I have been doing is organising with the make up woman when my trial will be! She has been great though, I have been plaguing her with questions all day...how am I meant to know what to do! I have had to sit here and think about timings too which I didn't think we needed to do so early. OH and I are hoping to get a meeting with the venue at the weekend to discuss timings, think we might need to go and see the photographer too just to double check what he needs. I think we have done all we can now until we know guest numbers in a few months. Immediate jobs are timings so we can order the invitations and order the kilts so we can make the most of their offer which runs out at the end of the month.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one astounded that the time is coming so soon! Fantastic that other people before us still have stuff to do, thanks for that one
I feel so disorganised but I think it is just because I want to get it all done now or ignore it, not do it in stages
Perfect, hearing that you are all sending out invites now or fairly soon I have decided our invites are on their way next weekend then for the beginning of March. We have a combination of RSVP dates as disagreed with parents about when we could ask when they back, so his parents invites have their invites going out later but they are dealing with them so I am not worrying about those. I was quite surprised how many people have asked for info on booking stuff already, but I guess it is right in the middle of the summer so no wonder they want to organise stuff.

Ajmoney - could you ask the two make up people for pictures of what they have done before? I have been really confused who to book as well but looked at pictures of their work which they emailed to me and my decision was made. I also tend to wear subtle make up and didn't want anything too strong (not the word but I can't think what is!) on the day, so seeing pictures gave me much better ideas.0
