22 weeks and 2 days! Tomorrow, I'm going with 2 of my 3 bridesmaids to collect their dresses and then onto another bridal shop to try my dress on with shoes, veil, decide if I want a tiara or not, what style necklace etc. Also, I need to make a decision as to whether or not I choose a large brooch to sew on or have the shop make a sequin and crystal panel to cover over a fastening on my dress. It currently has a flower corsage, but I'm not entirely sure I like that feature! I'm so excited!0

We've just had a letter to come for our Marriage Preparation course at the church at the beginning of April, I'm quite looking forward to it as the 'day' has taken over and we've had a few little niggly arguments recently so it'll be nice to focus on the future instead, even if I am a bit nervous about meeting the other couples!
We're going to the venue tomorrow to see the chair cover people, can't wait to see what they can do with our awkward sized chairs, keeping everything crossed as they might have a cover that fits!
Parents in law to be are away on hols for over a month so invite making is on hold for a while so I have plenty of time to mock up some invites to see what we like best in the next few weeks, where's the time going!0 -
Hey girls,
Have finally sorted my photographer worries! I put an ad on free-index, explaining what I was looking for, and then businesses reply to you with quotes and you can look though their websites, and it also gives reviews on each person too.
I just explained where I was, what sort of thing I was looking for, and that I was on a tight budget and could anyone help. 14 companies got in touch. I deliberately didn't want to put my budget down, because I thought some people would just say, oh, well we charge that much. Plus for the right photographer, I would have been willing to pay a little extra.
The style of photos we both agreed looked best, did actually come from the cheapest quote in the end!! Spoke to the guy on the phone yesterday and he seems lovely, answered all my questions and offered that I could go and see him to look over his work too. Have booked him in, so thats a nice weight off my mind cos I was worried we would never get one with our small budget!
Free-index do all sort of other services too, so might be worth a try if anyone is struggling for hairdressers, make-up artists, DJ's, florists etc. It is free, and they come back to you and try to sell themselves to you. Also loved the reviews cos you could get a good idea of what they were like from genuine people.
Have also been looking at invites. Wasn't gonna bother with them and just phone people, but vista print seem to be well priced for them, so have mocked up a design, just need to run it by my OH. Don't think I could be faffed making them, I once made 50 order of service's for my friend as a favour and it took **ages** and I so wished I hadn't offered to help, lol!! :rotfl:Married my lobster in July 2011

Invites have arrived today! :j Definitely recommend pureinvitation - itching to assemble them but don't want to rush it and mess them up!
Off bridesmaid shopping tomorrow also, so excited!0 -
Just popping in to say hi again. I haven't been in much as it just intensifies my feeling of panic!! Just trying to chip away at things gradually!
Have a meeting with the vicar tomorrow (there wasn't a vicar so we saw the curate when we booked!)
Have had some hassle trying to sort out church flowers as we found out there is another couple getting married on the same day and when she found out months ago she didn't contact me as advised. Had a few worries as we sent emails back and forth before realising we were both happy to go with church florist and share costs. Now I need to bite the bullet and arrange a meet up with her and church florist!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -

why not get postcard invites from vistaprint for free?
better than a phonecall but a lot cheaper and less hassle than making actual invites,
we got 100 postcards in our colour scheme, designed by me with all our details and (if i do say so myself) they are really nice, and they were FREE!
i also got matching thank you cards for free too, all you pay is P&P charges (about £5 ... which is nothing when you consider how much some people pay out just for a bit of card and ribbon)
apart from a few money worries (of course) we are getting there i think, except we have just found out we have to move again... and we have only been here 3 months! *sigh*
already found a new house though and should be out of here in a week or two... the new place is 100 times better than this house but i could have done without the extra stress before the wedding...
Mother in laws funeral is tuesday too, im trying to be calm about everything but will have a five minute freak out every now and then0 -
CG- sorry to hear about all the added stresses you've got.2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0

Just back from visiting my dress at the bridal shop, so thought I'd check in!
Picked up and paid for the other 2 bridesmaids dress from another shop on the way- both girls looked fabulous (we took the shoes and the wrap too!).
I'm amazed that I didn't cry trying my dress on again, as I thought I would. I think actually thinking about the day and doing these things is worse- there's hope yet that I won't turn into a complete crying wreck on the day!
Unfortunately I was hoping that the shop would take the bottom of the dress off (I figured my height isn't going to change between now and July, so may as well sort it out!) however... it's now too big for me
So, I'm now going to have to wait until June 3rd to do it all in one go. The lady said because quite a bit needs taking in on the corset, it may affect the the way the skirt falls, so just to be sure I'll leave it.
I tried my veil and shoes and I'm really happy with them- shoes from the Dune sale, veil impulse buy from the Bay of E!
Tonight's jobs: Chinese takeaway and invite final prototype for Mum to proof read and ok before printing them all.
