    Oooh, liking this thread.

    Heinz Beans, Heinz Tomato ketchup
    Hellmans Mayonnaise
    Colgate Toothpaste
Branded deodorants, shampoos, deodorants, cleansers etc ( I know someone who uses Asda shampoo...yuk!)

Other than that, happy to buy supermarket brand stuff, although generally not the basics stuff anymore except for things like cleaning products (bleach, rubber gloves etc) and clingfilm/tinfoil

Got some Asda standard teabags (not the cheapo smart price) and I have to say I'm less than impressed. Never had a problem with Tesco tea though. Weird

Haha- love that most people are saying T- I totally agree!

I prefer PG pyramid bags- none of the others taste the same, not even the square PG bags!

Also, Schwepps Diet lemonade- all the other brands are so acidic they actually hurt my teeth!

Sensodyne Pronamel Toothpaste- colgate and any other sensitive enamel forming tooth paste does not work- my teeth end up in agony within a week if I try to swap brands. Don't want to think how I managed without it- it hurts to remember!

Kerastase, Bumble&Bumble, Goldwell Dual Senses, Aveda or TIGI hair care (cannot believe I have got sucked into this one!) it does make all the difference to my hair which before was so ravished by the use of hair straighteners, Chlorine and Panetene (which adds to much silicon and so dries out your hair) that I was amazed at the difference decent hair care could actually make to what is in fact a dead collection of cells. Well, atleast I understand why I am struggling to make ends meet!! (not really- I get these as freebies or gifts 90% of the time!)

Washing detergent! Persil does not work, Ariel is the only one that works on my sweaty gym clothes- I have learnt this the hard way and do not have the money to play around experimenting anymore!

Fairy Washing-up liquid. No need to explain I hope.

I guess it means s**t loads?
  • I don't usually buy brands unless they are on offer, but the only thing I won't go without is Nescafe and any decent brand of washing liquid (Surf, Persil, Ariel any that has the best offer will do)

    PG tea
    Nescafe cappuccino
Branston beans (wish they had the easy opening tins though)
    Sensodyne - agree with jennie
    Heinz tomato soup
Andrex, Charmin or Kleenex loo rolls

After that there are certain brands I avoid (the new Tesco 'discount' one particularly), but find own brands fine.

Arm & Hammer toothpaste. Most of the others are too minty.

For me, it's Branston Pickle all the way. No other brand or supermarket's own comes close (and don't bring me any of that small chunk, spreadable nonsense either... ;))

Interesting point this. We don't drink tea in our house (not really a fan, myself) but we have some tea bags in a jar for when we have visitors. Almost everyone comments that it's a lovely cup of tea and asks which brand it is. The answer? Asda's own brand (not smartprice). Sometimes we tell those that ask, sometimes we say we can't remember (depends if we think the visitor will mind or not! :D)

I sometimes use supermarket own brand shower gels, shampoo. etc. Usually buy whatever's on offer and if there's nothing that I fancy I just plump for the standard supermarket's own. (Maybe it's because I'm a bloke...) It wouldn't surprise me if most shampoos and shower gels come out of the same factory as branded products anyway...
