    Hi Dotty

Just been thinking about you, really glad you posted to let us know you are ok.

I'm trying to sort my books out too. I've had my head in the sand about them, accountant gave us a kick up the backside to get organised, so hubby and I have been doing a bit every weekend, hubby makes me do it with him TBH ;):D I hate them too. Starting to see light at the end of the tunnel now. Your book keeper sounds good will they be alot cheaper than having an accountant?

Life has a habit of taking over sometimes but I am only too pleased to see things are going the right way for you. I am sure the book keeper will sort things out and you will feel so much better not having to worry about those returns. It's a matter of time now hun. Hang in there xx

    Hi Zippy

The book-keeper took a look at the draft return done by my original accountant and says his fees are really high so i guess she will be a great deal cheaper - she did say that as he has done most of the work to answer his questions he has raised (even tho he left it over a year to ask them!!) and let him submit that years returns before she moves onto 05-06.......I will show my bum in gratitude when these bloody things are sorted!!:p

Hi Pobby - in essence the shop is doing fine - its just the fact that im in arrears with so many creditors that makes it hard..........basically i would say the business had to suppliment my personal life too much in the past (i.e. bills - no frills!) but now im on the DMP with the CCCS this should even out - only over time tho i guess.

However........im in arrears with various people to do with the business left right and centre and its hard to know who to prioritise if you know what i mean?

When we had the shop we owed fortunes to suppliers. In general the principle we stuck to was to try and keep happy the suppliers that were vital to our turnover by paying them first.Instead of waiting for a credit controller to ring us I would always ring them first and say that we would be late paying.I never had any problems with that.Or,if it was a big ivoice, say £4k,I would send them half on account.

Some suppliers were tougher, fine,I would pay them up and not bother again with them.

A little trick used by some, however I warn you that you have to be very careful and well organised with this,is to take your credit period from the supplier and then pay by credit card to gain more credit period. We tried it,and it was a disaster but I know it works for some.

    Hi Dotty

Good to hear from you. I was thinking about you yesterday as I hadn't seen you around, I somehow missed your updated soa.

Looks like your doing okay, considering you have had a difficult month. Do you have enough income now your with cccs to cover all your outgoings? I do feel for you as your soa is so complicated compared to most as you have the business as well. Who says self employment is easy? If you are able to put a bit extra towards the outstanding bills its just a matter of time before you get yourself straight so hold tight. Are you nice and busy and how did you get on with your ebay shop or did you have to put it on hold because of the family bereavement?

Keep posting dotty, we miss you when your not around. :grouphug:

Hiya Zippy - i'd say were not doing too bad considering the time off recently due to the death in the family. The CCCS budget is pretty tight but doable and ive just had an offer on the first of my charges reclaiming mission - capital one owe me about £900 in charges and have offered me about £370 - now this would more than cover what i owe them as its only about £285 but im tempted to go for the lot as this would clear at least 2 of my other debts aswell and therefore bring my CCCS balance down a lot and enable those payments to go elsewhere - although its crunch time and im gonna have to file a money claim to get it back!!

On the self employment side - business is ok but could be busier - we have really busy days and then really quiet ones but i suppose thats life? I feel so much more positive now we have the new book-keeper - shes a gem and has really helped us a lot. I feel more at ease now shes handling things for us/me.

As for e-bay - not been that bothered to be honest - sold one of two things but nothing to write home about. Am slowly but surely getting my house in order.

Thanks for thinking about me Zippy - i often do the same about you and others on here - just hoping everyones getting on ok.

    love
