Personally I have never taken a plane flight in my life and never intend to. I would certainly feel bad about chucking 13Kw of gas into the atmosphere, just go and put a jumper on for goodness sake. I also recycle all my glass, cans, paper etc and feel much better for it. I also go to work on a bike, 9.4 miles each way despite owning two cars (which I also feel guilty about but they are both essential at times). It's about time the government, or someone, brought limits in to prevent people using aeroplanes more than once a year unless they can prove their journeys are absolutely neccessary. Air travel is an unneccessary luxury which, long term, will do much more harm than good.

Good for you...Give yourself a pat on the back !!!!
I personally leave the recycling to the experts...The Bin Man !!! Why should I go to all that trouble? If they offered reductions in council tax for recycling then maybe I would join you ......

More government legislation just what we need.

More than once a year! How do I get home then?

I bought one of these and assembled it last night. It's an absolute steal at £12.99, just right if you want a smaller sized bbq.

  • Well after having my heart set on a weber., i gave the lidl one a go today. Have to agree with the above post, it really is a steal at 12.99. I assembled it in about 10 mins and was cooking on it in 20 to 30 mins. Miles better than the gas one i've got aswell, it cooks really well or was that me! They also had some bbq tools that we also got, they were really good quality. Don't bother with the gas one get one of these instead you won't regret it!!

I've had one for a couple of years, to be frank..It's crap. It's not powerful enough. Put your money towards something decent.
What brand is your "crap" one?

The same as there selling now, Eldorado! What? you bought one & I've upset you by calling it crap?

    I can have an opinion, can't I?

I'd wished I'd put my money towards something better, This might be fine for you burger & sausages folk. Not for me

Sorry just noticed your earlier post.

It may look fine, agreed! U Get your gas "tomorrow" & judge it then...

    For everyone's information ...

The current ALDI offering is the ELDORADO 2

This is a 7kW gas appliance.

The previous Eldorado model was only 6kW

So this newer one is almost 17% MORE POWERFUL

It still seems to be 'crap' though. Bought one last week, set it up and used it the same night. It burnt EVERYTHING in the middle of the rack while not cooking ANYTHING near to the edge or at the ends. Also the chrome rack seems to be very flimsy and actually warped under the heat of cooking. Will have a few more bashes with it though before we admit defeat, might just be user error

I haven't tried mine yet, I haven't got any gas. I did get a couple of bottles from the tip to exchange at the garage :)!!!!!!

I read some cooking tips on the flogas website. They say run the (any gas) barbie for 15 minutes before using it, also leave the dead pig/cow bits out for an hour before cooking so that they're at an ambient temperature to prevent burning.

I'm still looking forward to trying mine, but sounds like it might be good for making charcoal for mercurystar's lidl barbie ;)
