Slightly off topic - but I would ask everyone thinking of buying a patio heater to think about it. Its not nice for the environment. And thats putting it mildly.

LOL!! How many plane flights have you taken in the last year? and you feel guilty about a 13kw patio heater?

Personally I have never taken a plane flight in my life and never intend to. I would certainly feel bad about chucking 13Kw of gas into the atmosphere, just go and put a jumper on for goodness sake. I also recycle all my glass, cans, paper etc and feel much better for it. I also go to work on a bike, 9.4 miles each way despite owning two cars (which I also feel guilty about but they are both essential at times). It's about time the government, or someone, brought limits in to prevent people using aeroplanes more than once a year unless they can prove their journeys are absolutely neccessary. Air travel is an unneccessary luxury which, long term, will do much more harm than good.

You two are like kids, so what if its a crap BBQ, Its from Aldi, They are more than likly imported from Germany or Eastern Europe, They should stand up to a crertain heat but the spec and features will be limited.

Also the patio heater are a joke, what did you do 5 or 6 years ago, you either went into the house or got a jumper on.

    These are just another luxury.

Just a quick note to anyone thinking of buying a cheap barbecue! The most important feature out of everything when considering purchasing one is the cooking height(the Aldi one NOT being good in this department). You will notice with alot of them when you look, that the cooking grid is only a couple of inches away from the lava rocks. Hellish trying to cook on them, u spend the entire time moving things around due to flareups! I love my gas barbecue for 'end of a long day' usage but you cant beat the taste of a charcoal......;)
Hope this helps someone as i have spent years and far to much money on finding the right one!
