Aldi have a very good reputation for returning goods without any hassle at all for up to a year.

  • I bought one this afternoon & assembled it in the sunshine. It's superb, I will buy some gas tomorrow & cook something that used to moo.

The instructions seem to be going off on a tangeant at one stage (fix some fabric onto the front, non-structural) but everything's there & it's well designed. It is quite easy to scratch the surface of the case so be careful where you rest those parts as you construct it. There is a temperature gauge that fits onto one corner of the glass window.

I bought extra lava rock but there's a decent sized bag already in with the barbie, until I find out how much/how fast it gets used then I won't know if I've spent money unnecessarily. I also bought the cover, which is large enough to go over the barbie with its side shelves in the 'up' position. They had a utensil set for sale which I also bought.

Set aside an hour if you're building one. You also need a bladed screwdriver, a posidrive screwdriver (and ideally a smaller posidrive screwdriver for one part) and finally you need an 8mm spanner (or adjustable spanner will do, or I suppose some pliers if you're not too bothered about chewing the edges off the nuts).

Great buy, I'm very pleased :)

I bought one of these BBq's 2/3 years ago and it burn't everything. I don't know if it's the same model or if it was just faulty. The point I was going to make is I took it back to Aldi almost 11 months later(the following summer) said I wasn't happy with it and they refunded me without any arguement. I don't know if the promise is still on their leaflets but it use to say something like'if you're not happy with your product please return it with receipt and we will refund within 12 months'.
Don't get confused with Lidl though as I believe their returns policy is very strict.

I've had one for a couple of years, to be frank..It's crap. It's not powerful enough. Put your money towards something decent.

The same as there selling now, Eldorado! What? you bought one & I've upset you by calling it crap?

    I can have an opinion, can't I?

I'd wished I'd put my money towards something better, This might be fine for you burger & sausages folk. Not for me

Its a bit daft to spend big money on a big yank BBQ and then decide thats not what you want - you must be on the wrong forum - where is the money saving in that?

I lived in Australia where they love a barbie - and they nearly all use gas too.

Slightly off topic - but I would ask everyone thinking of buying a patio heater to think about it. Its not nice for the environment. And thats putting it mildly.

I have a patio heater and wasn't aware it's bad for the environment. Why's that then?
