I sent my mobile phone off to mobile phone buyer. It's been at least 2 weeks now, and still no news????!!!
Has anyone had any payment from them?0 -
I would like to say a big thanks to Martin for the very useful info on recycling mobile phones, which I've found particularly helpful in progressing my ongoing de-clutter_and_organise_this household_chaos project.
I registered with envirofone, sent them a Samsung D410 and less than two weeks later, I have received my cheque for £35.54. I am well pleased.
:jMFW - the light from the end of the tunnel is shining down on me . . . . .
£57K of my house still belongs to the bank, on target to clear 2015 but I'm hoping to get there much sooner.
Looking forward to celebrating
Congratulations to thefunkygibbons on becoming mortgage free and thanks for the inspiration along the way :T0 -
I too would like to thank Martin for this article.
I have tried to use the facility with Mopay but there is a problem. I have 2 A835s and 2 C975s in varying conditions.
Their site does not allow me to list them sparately, I can only list both of one type as A condition or C condition.
I think I'll have to phone them or do multiple quotes.

It's taken 5 weeks for me to get a cheque from them. I had to contact them a few times by e-mail and by phone as well to try and sort things out.
They had apparently sent me an e-mail to say they were giving me £15 for my phone instead of £17, as there were a few scratches, but I didn't receive it. Surely they should have sent it again if it had bounced back?
I was offered more for my phone, compared to Envirophone who only offered half the amount. however, if you don't like hassle and don't like chasing up things that don't arrive, don't bother with them. Apparently they have lots of customers, so are very busy.
After I e-mailed them and said I had promised other readers on this forum that I would let them know how i got on, things started moving more swiftly.
If you do decide to use them, remember to send recorded delivery as proof of postage.0 -
Hi,
I just returned an old Nokia 3310 and a Siemens MT50 to Phones4U Trade In. http://www.phones4u.co.uk/tradein/tradein_request.asp
They gave me £10 for each phone, which is more than the £3.70 Envirophone quoted me. The site is not linked to from the Phones4U website but I don't think you need to have bought a phone from them to use the service.
The other bonus is that you don't need to send off the charger, just the phone!0 -
Dial-a-phone seem to be offering a flat £10 for old mobiles. Both my Nokia 3410 and Nokia 3510i appear to qualify. I say 'appear' because the site mentions 'trade-in' - though there is no reference to buying a new phone. Also, they say your mobile 'can' earn you £10. Might turn out when you send it you get less. No suggestion of anything untoward on the site - it's just that I'm a suspicious old git.;)

Anyone used these guys - seems a reasonable enough deal if its legit?0 -
First post in this thread links to Martin's article regarding selling your old mobiles as discussed by Martin tonight on BBC1 programme The One Show0

I was very surprised to hear that 'most people upgrade their phones every year'.
I could suggest even more money saving by hanging on to your existing phone until something goes wrong with it!;)0 -
I have just received a chq from Mopay for my broken phone. The phone worked but the screen was broken and they gave me £25 + it is recycled.0

Just wanted to add you can get PiggyPoints via Pigsback if you use Envirophone.0
