Not yet, I will be doing that tomorrow as we're reducing the number of hours DS is at nursery too.
I can't believe it's two weeks!?! Thats mad!

£11 withdrawn from a scratch this morning after winning £1
New FD cc showing on my account page this morning, so have done a BT for the balance of the JS card (£3700) which means instead of being 15.9%/22.9% its now 0% for 15 months
That will help reduce the interest a little

BT cleared yesterday, so the debt has gone up by £107.30 because of the fee, but my DFD has been reduced by 8 months
JSA *still* not come through, the !!!! up continues, and now they say it will be Monday (OH went to the Job Centre in Oxford yesterday while we were there). I felt a bit bad because I shouted at him, its not his fault (this time!) but if the money doesn't go in tomorrow, when he goes to sign on again, I will be going to have words with them! It's been nearly three weeks since he signed on, and they initially told him the money would be there in two days!! The only good thing I suppose is that the second lot of signing on money should come through fairly quickly afterwards..... I won't hold my breath just in case!
Will be phoning TCs tomorrow to update them, then phoning the locals schools to see about the free nursery places. I can't imagine we will get any extra money, I guess the arguement being that if OH isnt working, why are we paying for childcare. I have no idea how the whole system works *confused*
Got a couple of bits to get on eBay, so will do that next week as I'm off work for two weeks

Be ever so careful with letting Tax Credits know asap about changes - I've had major mess-ups resulting in me repaying TCs money back because of changes that have happened and not letting them know straight away.
I think you know but obviously you won't be entitled to help with childcare as you both need to be working at least 16 hours per week IIRC so don't let any build-ups of childcare payments accrue or you'll end up owing them back.
Also did you mean the system as in TCs or the free nursery places? Where I am, preschoolers entitled to 15 hours free funding per week from the term after their 3rd birthday - I understand in some places it's still 12.5 hours though per week. I will say though that the popular nurseries may have already closed applications - I remember the one DD1 went to was incredibly popular and you had to apply well before they were entitled to start attending using funded hours or else there was no chance!
Having said that we ended up trawling our local area as we had DD2 down for the same nursery DD1 went to but we moved shortly before she was due to start so had to find somewhere more local and completely by chance found a nursery school - a school just for 3/4/5 year olds which I didn't really know existed and had plenty of spaces.
Hope you sort it out soon - and that OH's JSA comes through soon! xDealing with my debts!Currently overpaying Virgin cc -balance Jan 2010 @ 1985.65Now @ 703.63

Thanks for your reply Jo... Luckily/sadly we only receive the basic £10.09 a week TCs as we had a joint income of over £49k, so I don't think its going to make any difference. DS is at a private nursery at the mo, and they do apply the LEA funding (12.5hrs per week here) but if I can, I would like to get him into a school nursery... its no great drama of I cant, as I've reduced his hours at his current nursery, so when the funding goes through, we'll be paying less anyway... hope that makes sense?!
No JSA yet, but I guess it can come at any point during the day *confused*

Hi Sarah. I don't want to be the voice of doom, but are you sure he actually will get JSA? After lots of confusing and contradictory messages, my OH was eventually refused JSA, because I earn too much. Our joint earnings were much lower than 49K!Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Well that is one of my other concerns.... that and I don't trust a word OH says to me when it comes to money! He's been in four times in the last two and a half weeks and they haven't said that he's not eligible... but your OH's case proves that anything can happen! I won't hold my breath! We're back up there again today as he's supposed to be signing on again, so we will see! Grr!!

Well Sar your OH's JSA should be cotribution based for 6 months.
Not means tested til 6 months are up.
What worries me slightly is they may sanction it for a number of weeks.
But fingers crossed they dont.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. And so the JSA sheeite rolls on! OH has been back again today after calling them yesterday... apparently his first claim was rejected because he was claiming for carer's allowance that he's not entitled to..... erm that'll be because he's not a carer and never claimed to be!! So he's been in today.... apparently the man has back dated the claim for the last four weeks, and OH has to go and sign on next Tues, and we should get some money a week tomorrow:eek:.... Shall I hold my breath? I think not!!!
The whole thing is making me :mad::mad::mad::mad: so much so that I threw the laptop at OH earlier!:( Lucikly it fell flat and only cracked the side a tiny bit but it made me feel better, albeit momentarily!
I have told OH that if there is no money by next Thurs, I will be going down there and having words.... Either the JSA lot are a bunch of jobs-worth c0ck heads or OH is a lying scum bag. I'm still 50/50 at the moment
My Dad now knows about OH having no job, so I'm hoping he feels sorry for me and gives me a nice fat cheque for my 30th in a couple of weeks time :rotfl::rotfl:Can't see it somehow, there's more chance of OH learning what the truth is!!!
Things are all kicking off at work (and I'm not even there!) My right hand lady has been offered a job as a Maternity Care Assistant at our local hospital (shes always wanted to do a baby related job) so she is either leaving or dropping right down to minimal hours per week. I'm pleased for her because she's also a bezzie mate, but gutted too. There are currently four mgrs signed off sick at our place, I'm on hols and over the next four weeks, everyone thats left will be off for at least one week each:eek: Plus I'm owed another three days when I get back.... I'm trying to get some of it paid up at the end of the year (four weeks time) but not sure if thats gonna happen. I've got next week off too, but wouldn't mind going back if I knew I would get 5 weeks pay next pay day
Got a busy few days... going to aforementioned mate's tomorrow for a bit, Friday we are going to see my Mum, then Sat/Sun we are off to London town to see OH's sister
Started potty training DS again today... he sat on the potty for 15 minutes, got up and said he'd finished, then went and stood next to the sofa..... guess what happened? Yup, he wee'd on it! Monkey!! I will persist though, I hope to have him day dry by the end of next week at the latest... we shall see
Went to see a local nursery today - actually its the best nursery in our town! - and they have afternoon places from mid MayIts a really nice nursery, got 'outstanding' on its Ofsted report last time, and DS had a great time even though we were only there for 45 minutes. They are 99% sure that they will have a place for him, but I should be getting a letter in the next few days to confirm. As soon as I get that letter I will be writting to his current nursery.... In a way its a shame to have to move him, but the nursery is fantastic, we can't afford the fees at the private nursery, and I'm hoping to tempt fate into getting OH another job! They do 'daycare' as well as normal nursery, so if/when OH does get another job, we can increase his hours if need be.
Things are slowly beginning to move.... about time
