  • No more news on OH getting a job... the only jobs they seem to have at the minute is driving jobs, and OH couldn't get his licence back.... Poop!

£90 cheque cleared, plus £280 shares money (less than first thought as OH stashed £200 for himself:mad::mad: ) and outstanding moneis from old job, although I don't know whether that is right, as they have only sent last months pay slip, not the month before's

Will be writing a letter today to the head of HR about the way OH has been treated! Some of it is stupid stuff that could have been avoided!

Moneywise, the extra money OH got means that the budget is only £22 this month, with minimal changes, but next month will be tight tight tight! Evasive action starts here! OH reckons hhis JSA will kick in the two weeks tomorrow, although I'm not convinced he's actually been to sign on!!

Been a turbulent week.... the money that OH stashed got blown on two nights out  which resulted in some serious arguements between the two of us - lots of name calling and beer-fuelled insults were thrown around!! It was also aimed at his Mum and Dad because I was discussing the situation with them - his poor Mum was mortified at his behaviour!

I have told OH that whilst I love him, I am not prepared to take that kind of abuse from him, so he either sorts his sheeite out or moves out!! Whether he listens or not is down to him, but he has admitted that he does need to see the doctor and get proffesional help... the problem is getting him up at 0830 to make the appt!! I also make it very clear that there is no room in the budget for any alcohol or cigarettes while he has no job, so he needs to address that issue too!!

Will be re-starting potty training with DS next week as I am only working two day, so hoping to get that buttoned down.... been reading about IA going 'cold turkey' with K so might give it a go too  Also need to think about getting him name down for school as he's three next month!:eek:

Oh no no no no no OH! *waggles finger disapprovingly* I'm all for having a bit of enjoyment when it's affordable and budgeted for, but can I ask what DID he spend £200 on over two nights - say £100 a night is an awful lot for just one evening even including maybe taxis unless he was buying rounds of drinks maybe?

I think you did the right thing putting your foot down. I'm sure he *is* aware of the situation financially as much as you are, but just so he can't say he didn't realise any of the finer points, make sure he does so he can't use the "oh you never told me we needed money for THAT" reasoning.

Also when you say you want him to sort himself out, again to be clear make sure you've explained exactly what you want - I don't know if anyone else's OHs are like this (ducks from barrage of "yes yes yes!" comments:D) but mine has had a habit of saying he didn't know I wanted him to do this/didn't want him to do that/didn't want him to go out/needed him to help out because I didn't explain specifically *rolls eyes*

I've called him on that one and explained I know his game now! I mean, I went crazy once when OH went out, I was very pregnant and tired with two kids to look after, and he went off out because when he asked me, I said I'd prefer he didn't go out which apparently left some degree of leverage in his eyes - if I'd have said I didn't want him to go out then he would have been clear about what I meant...! He's never done that again LOL!

I suppose I'm just saying be very clear about what your expectations are of him - but it's HIM that has to take the action - it's good you're not doing it for him.

  • Small update.... OH is now the proud owner of some Citalopran (or something like that! Anti-Ds) although he hasn't actually taken any yet, and has a follow up appt with the Dr on Thurs:T and will be 'signing on' tomorrow for the first time.... apparrently he will be getting 2 1/2 wks money this time, then £100ish every two weeks... it will help, and when I know how much it will be, I will call the Tax Credits and see if that makes a difference (I doubt, but will call anyway) and then make a decision about DS at nursery.... I know I should have done it already! :o

I'm off work from Wednesday onwards so I will pop to the local schools and see whats what - even if I just get him signed up for big school in a couple of years!

Phoned Sky about reducing the package..... not only did they knock off £10 per month from the bill, but it turns out since we've had it, theyve overcharged us by £10 per month, soo we now have £275 credit on the account.... so the sky bill money will be going off the CC for the next few months :D

    Thats kinda it really :)

  • OMG! How could I forget!?! I cancelled my First Direct cc a few months ago, and when I logged into my online banking today, there was an ad for the new Gold card, with the 15mth 0% BT.... and I got accepted in less than a minute, for a £4k limit! :D This is great because I can BT the whole Sainsburys card off it (OH had previously taken cash off it) then see if they'll do me a deal for when my Virgin runs out in March

I'd previously applied for the Halifax one (existing customer offer, but got rejected) so I was dead happy and surprised they allowed me, as I already have a loan with them. God love First Direct :D
