  • Well b*gger me you have a diary!! I had no idea :o

Now, to stick my tuppence in the pot :D

As you'll know from my thread, Mr Fresian has bad depression...but it can be hard to take when you're the one working full time. *hugs*

I have suffered badly from it in the past, to the point where I left my uni course many moons ago as I couldn't cope with the outside world. Bad times indeed. :(

You would think this makes me kind and sympathetic. Nope, I still get home from work and think "!!!!!!! I've been up since 6.30am, done a full day of work and now have to do washing, cooking and cleaning and all you've done is BLOODY WELL PLAY CALL OF DUTY ON THE PC ALL DAY". Grrr.....

    (I do love him though!)

I hope things get better for you Sarah - I'm subscribing now!

Thanks F_F, thats exactly how I am, but without having suffered myself. I feel terrible sometimes because I just don't get it... I'm a very practical thinking person, if things need doing, I just do them. I don't get depressed about things, and if I am feeling down, I never let it get to me for long.

The work stuff has moved on a bit, there is a meeting tomorrow that he needs to attend. Sadly I can't get the time off work, so his Mum is going to have to take him I think - added stress for OH!! So we'll see what happens there.

Moneywise.... well I'm skint :D:eek: thats about all I can say about that! :)

  • OH had the meeting yesterday, but the decision was upheld, so he no longer has a job:mad: However he seems rather upbeat about it.... He is going to contact the CAB on Monday to see if he has grounds for an Industrial Tribunal. Apparently he was told at his meeting that he is still owed some money, and it is pay day on Friday, so we'll see what happens then. He's also had a letter through from a Sharesave scheme saying that there's £480 to come back to him... if both things come through, that will give us enough breathing space to sort out a few things. OH went out last night (yes I paid) but before he left he said he will not be touching alcohol, cigarettes or going out again until he has a job! Someones moved all the smilies round and I can't find what I'm looking for, so *insert 'looking hopeful but trying not to tempt fate' smiley here* The simple fact of the matter is that if he doesn't get any oft he money, there won't be any money to buy beer/fags/nights out anyway, which he is fully aware of.
He says Monday is the new start, he should be making a Drs appt (for the depression and the Hypertension) and he's already roped his Dad into ferrying him around to the CAB, agencies, and to the local trading estate to look for jobs - I am quietly confident, but also don't wanna hope too much as I don't want to be disappointed!

OH also had his licence re-application turned down after the medical, but that is all linked to the Hypertension, so that should be sorted out in due course.

I will be contacting the two local scholls on MOnday to find out about nursery places for DS - I don't want him to leave where he is, but if OH doesn't get a job fairly soon, we just can't afford the £500 pm until LEA kicks in (April).... but sods law says that the minute DS goes to a school nursery, OH will get a job! In fact, as I type this, I need to think about this a bit more, as I forgot that school linked nurseries aren't open in the school hols, and that would cause major childcare issues for me - aaarrrrrrgggggghhhh again!!

    I need tea! :D

  • Hi sarah,

I know the decision isn't one you hoped for but maybe, just maybe it will shake you OH into being more of a family rather than thinking rather like a single student :o My fingers are well and truely crossed for the money and sharesave, I know it will only keep you afloat for this month but at least its something. Also i love to positive attitude he has, lets hope he gets a job asap. I dont know why he lost his job at Mr S but could he not get JSA Shrug_by_melonhead_emotion.gif

 At the nurserys, that surely means he will have to stay where he is? I guess childcare in the holidays is more expensive than the nursrey he is at now Shrug_by_melonhead_emotion.gif I know this isn't the case but is there anything else you can trim from you SOA? Anything your OH can do to up his income before finding a job?

Whatever happens remember to look after yourself and pop in here for some support :A

Oh and the confused (shrug sholders) smilie and the sarcastic (rolling eyes) smilie has been removed by Martin. Its all on the site feedback/suggestion board if you have 10min spare...

Hi Sarah! Fingers crossed he gets the pay and the Sharesave thingy. Have you looked into other options for childcare, eg a childminder? £500 seems an awful lot, that was roughly what I paid when I had 3 children being looked after. I know some childminders aren't great but if you find a good one I think it's better than a nursery as they can take them out and about and it's closer to the one-to-one care they'd get at home. Anyway, I'm sure you're looking at all options. Good luck with it all.

Sorry to hear about the decision but glad OH is being proactive about sorting things out and more realistic about money
