Just entered the meter reading for the electricity, and for in the last month and three days we have used £64 worth of electricity:eek: Needless to say the tumble dryer is now unplugged!! I knew they ate electricity but I didn' realise how much! We have had the heating on for the last month too (sill storage heater) so that hasn't helped, but it has been so cold! I've turned it down from 2 to 1 as its been a bit milder, and DSs heater is at the same, and holds the temp at 17 degrees. I think I will be enetering it once a week for a while, to see how much we're using!

After a lazy day yesterday (and Tuesday and Monday :o:o:o) I need to get my butt into gear today and tomorrow while DS is at nursery, so I have a list of jobs that need doing:

    Thursday

[STRIKE]Washing up - not left since Mon I might add, its only yesterdays![/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Washing - to be hung outside or on airer!![/STRIKE]
    Put clean laundry away
[STRIKE]Hide money pot from OH - he keeps trying to raid it![/STRIKE] Done!
    [STRIKE]Clean kitchen sides down[/STRIKE]
    Write nursery cancellation letter
    Write Amex cancellation letter

    Friday

    Hoover whole house
    New budgets for month:eek:
Update Tax Credits - must find their number and do this ASAP!!
    Shopping list/shopping
    Mgrs rotas for work
    Tidy garden, front and back
Sort out shed/make room for bike
Lay slabs for path along washing line
    Clear compost bins
Clean kitchen floor - this will be last as the garden is very muddy and doggie and I will be in and out most of the day!

Will probably add more as I go along :o

How are you doing with the list today? I always add more to mine as I go along :)

We also put our storage heaters on not long ago as it was bl**dy freezing in here! We're still experimenting with settings and which ones need to be on and which can stay off so expecting the elc bill to go up too:eek:

I have to say I do hate the storage heaters, although thankfully we only have a small house and neither OH or DS particularly feel the cold (I do but I just layer up). We have one heater in the living room, that we have the input setting on 1 1/2 to 2 depending on how cold its going to be, and the output setting on 1, otherwise all the heat goes during the day and there's none left for the evening.
We don't heat our bedroom at all... I hate a hot bedroom, and OH is like a giant hot water bottle, so most nights I have the window open even if its -6 outside! DS's is heated with an electric heater, but only to 16/17 degrees.... he's like Daddy and is a very hot boy. The kitchen is the only room that ever feel really cold, patio doors and no heater, but once you cook its fine :)

Had an email this morning to say the DD is going back up to £64 from £47.... bah!!

  • Not much to update since the last post.... OH went back to the Job Centre yesterday to sign on for the third time (and still no foofing money!!!) I sat there while he saw the woman (not within hearing distance though), and according to him, his JSA will be back-dated for the five weeks, and will be two to three working days (which means Thurs or Fri). I will believe that when I see it in the account!! At least I know he's been to sign on! However the entry on my monthly budget spreadsheet for JSA currently reads 'JSA - ha ha ha!!!' :D

Have cancelled DSs nursery contract (last day 26th March) but have not had written confirmation from the other nursery yet - we went last Wednesday - so gettiing a little bit nervous! Have sent the Childcare voucher payment to current nursery, so will give it until Monday then cancel that too.

Made a PAD or two and a boob today :o I PADed £425.19 to my Sainsburys card, clearing it totally:j plus £5.77 to smEgg.... then the £84.09 minimum payment went out for the Sains card :o So I am now in credit on that card. I am going to wait to see if there are any BT offers as the 0% runs out on the Virgin card next month :(

Re-started potty training on Monday, and DS is doing better this time aorund - he actually asked for the toilet last night although it was too late when we got there, but at least he asked! Going to limit his drinks to meal times for a few days to see if that helps - his accidents have always been small, so thought that might help with fewer accidents... we shall see.

Think thats all for now :)

Well the JSA has arrived today.... .all £45 of it!! Sorry, £45.93 to be precise!!:rotfl:
What a joke! Still, its £45 more than I was expecting.... and the fact that OH hasn't kicked off means he wasn't expecting it either!! Grrr!!

OH still hasn't told the mother of his child that he has no job, and she's asking OH's dad where her money is (although never contacts OH directly)Going to have to look at the budgets again, assuming that we are not getting any money, then any JSA we get will be a bonus. Will update TCs today now I know how little OH is getting

    to everything today!!

  • Not much exciting stuff to tell atm....

Have cancelled the scAmex card, and had the final bill.... which was £0 surprisingly!! Also had a letter from smEgg saying that from April my int will go up from 16.9% to 21.9% I've got just over £3k :mad:on that so I will write to cancel the card before that happens (I think the int gets frozen, will just 'put it to the board' :) and that will be the focus of my PAD. Sold an old phone to one of those recycle companies for £84, just waiting for that to hit my account then that'll go off the card too :)

In poo news, cleared my Sains card to get a BT deal.... and they cut the limit from £3900 to £250:eek::rotfl: Erm, that'll be no to the BT deal then!! They didn't even tell me!! Bovvered!!

OH still has no job, but at least we know he will get some JSA *rolls eyes*

    Work is poo, nuff said!

    Plodding along though :)

I'm having the same kind of things happening with credit cards at the moment- luckily they're paid off.
The interest rate hikes are out of order in my humble opinion!

  • Still plodding along, nothing exciting happening here at all....

OH has made no effort since my last post to find a job or even go to the job centre to sign on! I have asked him if he wants any help with anything, and he said 'no, we are over' He says he is depressed, and has a DRs appt for the 12th Apr, as he will only see the one Dr, who works p/t. He's been in bed for the last week, except for the five nights last week he went out on the pop, as well as last night. In my [STRIKE]heartless[/STRIKE] mind he is using it as an excuse.... he wasn't so depressed that he couldn't go out and have fun with his friends last week, then stay in bed all day/weekend. He got hold of another credit card that I thought had been closed (limit £500) and has spent it all in the last three weeks. I'm no longer  with him, as its what I expected!

So we are trying to survive on my meagre wage.... I have told him not to ask me to buy him beer or cigs, as I won't be. I am effectively starving him back to the job centre :D

I do think that we may be entitled to some Housing Benefit, so I am going to phone them in a minute. Just phoned the TCS to correct that acc, and they have no record of DSs nursery details.....:mad: They're also asking for projected earning for this year until Apr *confused* And they wonder why so many people don't bother or get angry!!! Oh well, I have my info, just need to check the approval details for the nursery, then call them... Grrr

Painted half the kitchen cupbaord doors yesterday, and going to finish the rest today.... its strangely theraputic, and I get high on the fumes :rotfl:
