The other issue, is that DH is Meditteranian, and about 5ft7 or 8 and feels a bit adrift in a ''mountainscape of Englishmen and Americans who were all on the tall boys' sports teams'':o clothes in Uk are never quite the right fit.
OrangeProse perhaps you'd recoomend the suitably unisex hairdresser? He has great hair: curly and really thick (I have curly hair too). The growing out stage will be dreadful, but I think once its a bit longer he'll look gorgeous.:D
Shoes/boots he's very good on, and often picks up while in Italy.
I think the age thing is true although I am possibly guilty of ignoring that one from time to time myself (I'm almost 32, although I look about 25). I do feel that most of the regular high street stores serve men over 28/30 rather poorly - so recently I spend more time (and money) in places like Ted Baker, French Connection and the department stores. Living and working in central London helps, of course.
The hairdressers that I'd recommend (I hope I'm allowed to do this - oh well, here goes) are Pimps & Pinups on Lamb Street or Taylor Taylor on Commercial Street. P&P is cheaper than TT.Think amongst these posts, there's the makings of an excellent new thread for men!!
Shame for all these point to get lost and not resurface in this daily thread.
Now who's going to start it??
I like the thought but I think there'd be only me in it. Don't worry, the novelty of having a boy in the room will wear off soon and your lovely thread will go back to normal again!"I'm not a one-trick pony. I'm not a ten-trick pony. I'm a whole field of ponies - and they're all literally running towards this job."

This is a forum, sub-forum and thread - it is a "conversation" that anyone can join in or remark upon.
I am not the only one who has a negative view of the "fashionista" threads - namely the number of them; I am one of the only people who is mouthy enough to say anything.0 -

I doubt it! (novelty wearing off!). I wouldn't want a segregated thread!!! but I assume a source of good stuff for men was being spoken of
rather than a daily wear one. Thank you for the recommendations! You've been really helpful: I hope you let me pick your brains again, its very useful, having a boy's insight
Dh looks younger too: apart from the clothes atm. At weeknds he certainly looks younger. I feel like a veritable crone sometimes: atm I look a day and a half for each I've lived!
:rotfl:
Gottochange: we've certainly not been talking about just women's clothes, I agree, but the costs and dificulties of mens clothing certainly impose on a lot of women as well as men.
and certainly household budgets and time budgets. I'm glad you feel welcome to join in
would you feel a weekly longer thread would be less...offensive to you? 0 -

No, the rule is if all you do is whinge that you dpnt want to post ever again, just find a different thread you do want to post on.0 -
GotToChange wrote: »As I have said on several occasions, I would never want to post (again)
Erm, I think you just did!
- but I do like to read - what women are wearing; end of. The rest is just waffle.
Why just women? Why can't the blokes join in?

But i thought it was the converastion and chatter you were objecting to???
You are most very welcome, as is everybody to post or just read, hell it's a forum, but is there any slight chance that you could be nice to people...it's just a teeny weeny request, which of course you can reject, but please don't think that the chitter chatter will stop beacause you don't like it. I for one like the chatter, and regard many of these people as my 'virtual' friends.

But GotToChange, if you say you are not going to post, then read & run, don't post & then get caught up in the minutiae of our daily chuntering-on if you really aren't keen on it.
It is, as you say, a forum, a sub-forum and a thread - it is not the News At Ten or Panorama. The world will not stop if we do not post - or indeed if we post every day or even several times a day.
And to be honest, posts such as yours saying that you do not like the number of fashion threads may actually do us a huge favour by convincing those in MSE Towers that a Fashion sub-board would be a good idea. But it is not US you should be complaining to - I believe there are threads on which you can make suggestions to be considered by the people who run the site. Why not post on there, where your feelings may be taken into account?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Orangeprose, the novelty of a bloke posting will not wear off, we had another guy posting, but i think i scared him when he started talking about his underwear. DH doesn't give a fig about clothes and will often ask me to go and get him new jeans/t-shirts etc. My ds1 (14) on the other hand luuurves clothes and will shop for ever. He loves to groom too, he's just off to air cadets and smells like the aftershave counter and his hair is perfect.

That's quite all right, of course you can pick my brains any time. As I said at the beginning of the day, I like to try things out, and sometimes I get it wrong. But then a life without experimentation and challenge to the accepted norms would be a very dull one indeed.
Aah, but you're our sort of boy and we like you & want you to stay!!
Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere. I'm quite thick-skinned!
I think - in general - that the wonderful thing about the internet and forums like this is that they're completely democratic. Anyone can contribute, read, post, disagree and anything else on whatever forum or thread they want. Where some people go, others follow. And when new people join in, you get different people's opinions, experiences and little bits of their lives, which enriches the conversation and means that you learn a bit about some new people; people who you would not normally ever chance to interact with. At the end of the day, forum threads tend to be conversations, not lists."I'm not a one-trick pony. I'm not a ten-trick pony. I'm a whole field of ponies - and they're all literally running towards this job."
