    Afternoon All

Feeling very tired today as the long journey to and from work takes its toll.

We should hear back from the vet today about what's actually wrong with my doggie.

Brought my fruit with me to work as always along with a weightloss shake thingy, that I make up at home, as it's cheaper than buying the ready made ones every day.

    Hope everyone's ok

I was right to get the dress in - in the last few mins we've had thunder and lightning, and it's absolutely stair-rodding it now!

And the council have just delivered our new wheely bin (for garden and food waste, commencing 7th Sept) plus a kitchen caddy. Oh joy! Is there a technique for maneouvering (sp?) wheely bins? I had a job to move it to where it's going to live, even though it's empty, but then I've never used one before, so I wondered if there's a trick to it.

Just watching the funeral of Harry Patch, the last British soldier who fought in the trenches of WW1. Made me cry and think about how almost an entire generation of young men were wiped out during that conflict. We studied it at school but hearing living history accounts really brings it home to you.

My love goes out to anyone who has family members fighting in the services right now, they do a fantastic job.

Sorry, I know it's not OS but I feel really emotional and wanted to share.

the sad part is that he was the last we have now lost that personal contact that we had in him and the others that have all pased on these last years. I think 10 years agon there was still over 20 of them left.
While thay were alive that kept the link open to all those that fell and the war its self. Now the last have been layed to rest the like is gone.
We still have the storys but not the men to see and touch.

But we still have our heros the men and women from the ww2 an dall the other wars of the last 70 years.
And we have the Men and women today that fight to keep us safe and so other my know the freedom that we have. and that is all dow to the brave omen and women of the past.:A

Taplady -:eek::eek: at the snake. I am utterly phobic of them, can't even look at them on tv or pictures in a paper. Was so nervous when I went to Florida last year of seeing any snakes, but fortunately I didn't. Have seen a couple of this country out and about, not a pleasant experience. I now try not to go anywhere where they might be!

So much for me boasting this morning about the weather, its raining cats and dogs plus thunder and lightening!! Kids still want to sleep in the tent, so I'll see how it holds out this afternoon with the weather.

Their poor Grandad, we phoned earlier to say we weren't coming due to weather. He'd got the paddling pool out, filled it up, and even heated it a bit. Then the heavens opened.

Now have to plan something for tea, as somehow don't think we'll be having a BBQ!!

If you tip it back onto its wheels, and trundle it with the front edge lifted up, they generally behave. We have two (three in my old town) and my main problem now is remembering which one is due to be collected each week. Ours live in the front 'garden' - more like a yard with a tree in the middle - and just fit behind the tree and under the front bay window so they can't be seen ;)
