Hi all:j:j
just spoke to one of my old work mates.
There might be a chance of me having my old job back:T:T Work has picked up quite a bit ove ther last couple of months. And the company may be looking to recurit some of the people that have been layed off this year.
My mate has told them that i have been told that i have a new brain tumor and that at some point i will have having treatment for it.
And as was the case when i worked for them thay were ok about it.
I have to say that all the time i was working for them that were always very surpotive of anyone that had an illness.
So im hopeing that i will be bale to go back there. as really its my only chance of getting a job. as i very much doubt that anyone else would give a job to someone who could end up in a few months time having a lot of time off work due to illness. There might evenb be a chance i can start back part time to see how i go and when iv had tretment than go back full time:j i have to say that my old boos was a top bloke and he never really wont to lose me. but at the time there really was no other opshion.
Im noty really going to get my hopes up of starting any work soon as in this climant anything could still happen.
But i have to say i think id feel a lot better in mtself even just doing a few hours a week:A
anyway just thort id sheare my bit of news with you
i hope that you are all enjoying your day:j:j:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
Morning all

It's no good Aussie, who or what is a *goog* :rotfl: You will use these *foreign* words
I've googled it and all that comes up with is references to google
Bet they really had to work at getting you to chat
:D:D ( although if offered wine, you wouldn't have needed tying down :rotfl:)
Happy Birthday Jayward :bdaycake: Hope you're feeling better and being spoiled. Have a great day
Happy holidays Pink. Wonder what state the board will get into with you and Penny away:eek::D
Twink hope you feel better soon.
Well it's a beautiful day again, so all beds stripped and one lot flapping on the line, the rest just about to finish in the machine.
Salmon and prawn bake for dinner tonight, yummy. DH loves it and it's so quick and easy to assemble I earn millions of brownie points for so little effort.
I had hoped to do the same as JackieO and go to Bluewater today for the opening of John Lewis's foodhall. Got too much on here I think. Still if I can rush through some of it, maybe I could go later. Want to collect my free bag too, tired mum
Good luck with the car, hope it gets sorted.
Right off to get cracking. Bye, hope you have good days. You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Morning everyone. :hello:
Sorry I've been missing in action.
The girls are in a summer scheme at the leisure centre from 9-3 this week and I have so much to do that I banned myself from MSE
As a result I have achieved loads so it's been worth it.
Made a roast gammon yesterday (with spuds, carrots and cabbage from the garden) so I have lentil soup for lunch today and have just made a pot of bolognese for tea. Second load of washing is on the line (still sunny here
) and the house is hoovered and floors washed. Just need to sort out some ironing and may sit down with my book for an hour.
Picked up some wine making bits from freecycle yesterday. I was only expecting a couple of demijohns and some airlocks but it turned out to be 3 fermenting bins, 4 beer barrels and 3 crates of bits and bobs including all the airlocks, pipes and chemicals I need. Well over £200 worth of gear. :j:beer: Should be fun.
Haven't been keeping up with the threads but get well soon to those with piggy flu and Happy Birthday Jayward.
Regarding holiday makers I see it as a necessary part of living somewhere so absolutely beautiful. I have no problems with considerate tourists, which the majority are. I love people to come here and enjoy themselves. The only things I mind are bad driving and people invading my privacy in my own home and garden
..... Oh... and the fact that I have been listening to bagpipes for 12 hours a day wafting down from a nearby monument.
Aussie, Maybe N9Eav meeting Pink at the border with his baton would mean he was just pleased to see her  If he puts it anywhere near her I'm nominating him for a medal for bravery above and beyond the call of duty.
;)
Have fun everyone

Halight,
Just wanted to say I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you with the job.
Happy birthday Jayward and welcome to anyone new since I last posted.
Not a lot oS going on because I've had 3 evening meetings for work this week and they always make me feel like a zombie. Dh has gone away for the night so it's just me and the dog tonight (DS is on holiday) so I confess to have taken an M&S ready meal out of the freezer this morning.
We're going to London to see Warhorse on Saturday with DD, I'm really looking forward to it and next Tuesday is our 30th anniversary so Mr Snoozer is taking me out for a posh meal. I wil be making food from scratch in between all this, honest!
Please keep fingers crossed for DD who has a job interview this afternoon, she only sent her CV in this morning and they rang 5 mins later to say that they'd had lots of interst but her CV really stood out.0 -
Morning all
Glorious today, first load of washing on the line and next load in at the moment.
DD slightly improved today but still running a temp and no energy at all. Day3 of Tamiflu so hope by the end of today we will see an improvement.
Fingers crossed for you Halight
:bdaycake:Happy Birthday Jayward
Batch cooking and cleaning are the order of the day today, just nipped to Morrisons and picked up quite a lot of YS items which are now in the freezer. Going to watch Econ Gastron this afternoon when I have finished my jobs and prepared tea.
Churchmouse - that salmon and prawn dish sounds lovely any chance of a recipe please???
Just given out a weather warning on the t.v. for overnight tonight with torrential rain forecast in some parts:eek: How come we never seem to get more than one good day at a time:rolleyes:
Anyway must get on. SunnyGirl hope you are OK seems like ages since you posted!
Have a good day all
x
Edited to say - fingers crossed for your DD too Snoozer - let us know how she goes on!"Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you are up to........"
Dieting ........... is no piece of cake!!!!:D
Weight loss since January 2011 - 5st 5 lbs!!!!!0 -
Happy birthday jayward
Haribo - what a great freecycle find
I bought two vinyls in a charity shop yesterday, I paid £1 for the both of them and then found that they are worth significantly more than that (and they are immaculate) although I plan to keep them so it doesn't matter (a bit out of the genre I normally collect, but I like the band, so it doesn't matter - I just leave a note in the vinyl box stating where I bought them so if I do sell them on then I can make a donation back). OH is going to the US soon with work, I thought I might tag along and see if I can catch another NIN concert, but he's leaving just after they finish touring
We had pasta for tea last night and tonight it will be pulled pork, bread rolls and salad. I finished the laundry last night and excavated clean the laundry mountain, so the flat looks sort of presentable for a change. My chili plants are also in flower
Have a good day all, cel x
OH has a solicitors appointment today. I am so tired of all this.:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Happy Birthday Jayward
Halight that's great news, whether you get your old job back or not is not the issue for me, it brought a smile to my face reading how much of a boost it gave you and thanks for sharing your good news
Okay so just over two weeks ago I was poorlie with a cold, and guess what this morning some form of lurgy is back
Sore throat, runny nose and aching all over, DH made me stay on the sofa with the TV remote so I watched Economy Gastronomy. The couple live not that far away from me, was in that Asda a couple of nights ago (shall keep an eye out for them and see if they revert back to smart price macaroni cheese lol!). I've read some comments about EG and how it isn't showing OS style people, myself I doubt you'll get anybody on the programme spending less than £100 a week on shopping.
The whole aim of the show seems to be teaching those who spend a small fortune on food to spend less in these credit crunch times. There not going to show people who already live on £20 - £40 a week sadly, which is a shame as people that spend a lot can learn an awful lot from the OS'ers on here. I myself used to spend about £500 a month for 2 adults, plus 2 cats and odd guests (yup they're very odd lol), but in just two months I've cut that down to £290 and we're eating a lot healthier and I plan to reduce even more. I think Martin should do the MSE version of EG and as others have said on previous threads get an OS recipe book together.
As I feel poorlie sick I'm having HM Chinese Chicken Noodle Soup for lunch with HM bread, just out of the BM, see even when poorlie I'm not forgoing new my OS lifestyle. WM is on and will peg it out after (if I can be bothered to get dressed) and need to make some strawberry muffins from recipe found on here to use up some strawbs we have left. Have a good day everyone I'm off back to the sofa with a mug of elderberry rob for my cold, homemade of course
LV xGrocery Challenge : August 09 £295.00 £194.23, July 09 £300.00 £281.080 -
CM Translation - It's an egg. Really, everybody knows that.

Haribo You're probably right, he might not be brave enough to wave his baton around. He may just show her his tackle instead.
Snoozer It's our 30th in a couple of weeks too. Can't believe it's that long, well some days I can.
Do you still have your wedding dress? I do.
Lemon Verbena Is that a plant? Hope you feel better soon.
Off to shower & read my book. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

Afternoon all!!
Been adventurous today! made dough in BM then turned it out and made "sub" rolls, complete with "bits" on top - my OH had seen them in MrA and said oo lets have them for our picnic - I looked agreed and have now made my own!! :T Far cheaper I imagine than the £1.48 he wanted for them. Just need taste test now!!
However, now got the bread bug again - and have mislaid instructions - posted on here to see if anyone could help. I am positive someone will - you are a really helpful bunch!!
Tea is fajitas with stuff from freezer.... Got ironing and pegging out to do, but someone has stolen my get up and go!!
Owl xChildren are born with wings .... Teachers help them to flyOne day your life is going to flash in front of your eyes.... Make sure it's worth watching!!!!!0 -
Hi Aussie,
Yes, I've still got the dress although I can't fit in it any more ( I was a size 10 when we married) - You're so slim I bet you still fit in yours. It does seem incredible that it's 30 years, we met at UNI and I still feel like a student inside, unfortunately the outside has crumbled a lot!
One advantage of being a child bride <g> is that the kids are now grown and we have the freedom to do what we want.0
