  • Well done on the payment.

It might be worth you registering on the Woolworths site for free Saturday morning cinema tickets http://www.woolworths.co.uk/rf/wlo/s...do?page=first1

I've just seen it on the Grabbit Board so I've registered and thought it might be worth you doing it too if your cinema is participating. Not a huge saving but better sent to Marshalls than the cinema :D

Just go to the homepage and you can register for free movies at the bottom.

I doubt you will get free movie for this week but it may be useful in the future.

Quiet day here - dd2 and I took 2 old portable tvs down to the recycling depot and got rid of my broken lawnmower too. Glad to get the tvs out - they've been sat on the landing for a few weeks!;)

Nipped to Tesco and returned the 2 bits, £35 back on my card. Spent £7 there - cheap popcorn, fruit, couple of other bits. Posted the 2 ebay sales on the way home too.

Before the girls got up this morning I sat at the PC and put all our old photos onto the new external hard drive - one good job done! Gave me a laugh too, some of the photos...:rotfl:

Did the ironing in front of a dvd this afternoon - all school shirts, trousers etc done and ready for next week....boooooo:rolleyes:

Dinner is on - a big chicken pie reduced to £1.50, mash and carrots...mmmmm

  • Milly was the external hard drive easy to use/fathom?

I so need to sort out my photos as I would be devastated if they were lost of this computer as I have no hard copies :o Its just a job I have been putting off and worrying about

I put it off mainly because I don't know what I am doing

Absolutely no problem at all to use - just plug in to power and USB port and away you go! My pc conked out last year and I managed to save all the stuff, but been meaning to buy an external drive since then. So now all my pics are safe;)
    It was £50 on Play.com, 500gb, just what I needed:D

  • Right excuse my ignorance :o but is the hard drive you bought the same as a memory stick? I have one of those  could I use that?

Here's a link to the hard drive: http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/-/2144/1411/-/9752949/Seagate-Expansion-500GB-External-USB-Desktop-Hard-Drive/Product.html?searchtype=genre

    (wow that's long;))

I think for storage of files then an external hard drive is recommended, as opposed to memory sticks - they're more a portable storage but not meant to be a long term storage option.
Hope that makes sense - the one I bought had good reviews and was nice and easy to use:rolleyes:
