No you are not silly at all Milly, I am not sure I could contemplate online dating, probably some of them are married anyway
Things will pick up when you get to UNI as there is usually a broad spectrum of ages and you never know.

I forgot to ask what date do you start at UNI, just seen post 41 and you are as good as the teachers and you could do their job.....think positive and believe in yourself :beer:0

I start at the very end of September - w/c 28th...so still a few weeks yet!
As for thinking positively, well I'm finding it very hard right now, but trying to cheer myself up! I must keep busy or I end up feeling angry with myself for being lazy:rotfl:
Tomorrow I'll be more sparkly I hope....:pI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Sorry you're feeling a bit rubbish at the moment.
You can't go out as no babysitter as you say and then before you know it they will have left home but remember there will be a middle bit to all that and they will be old enough to be left in the evening while you take up a hobbie, have the odd night etc. So by the time they leave home you may have much more of a 'life' than you have now.
Plus you are going back to study so are uppong the potential to earn more money by the time they leave home.
I know you are renting, is it a plan to try and buy your own home one day or are you happy renting?0 -

Hi KM, thank you for the post:D
I'm happy renting at the moment - it's the only option for me anyway as my TA wage is pretty rubbish, so I get some HB towards it. But yes, I would love to own my own home again, so maybe that should be my plan for the future - get rid of the debt and start to save for that.
And yes, you're right - by studying I would hopefully be able to earn more eventually, that really was one of the main reasons for committing myself to the course.
I'm feeling brighter today - hopefully I was just having an off day:rolleyes: I know I think too much sometimes and it probably isn't very helpful to worry about my situation in 8 years time....who knows what could happen eh?!:p I just imagined that 2 1/2 years after splitting with the ex I would have some gorgeous new man but the reality is very different...I've not met one at all!!!:rotfl:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Well look how well you saved for that holiday this year. I've no idea how much your debt is but at the rate you saved for that holiday amount surely you could make a good dent in it?
Then maybe you could start a long term 'House Deposit' pot that you could throw odds and ends into to coincide with when you income goes up enough to apply for a mortgage?
Nothing like pushing someone into things lol0 -

Ahhh no KM, you're not pushing...I appreciate the help, I seem to need it right now:o
I did save £1100 for the holiday and passports of £90-ish, not a penny on credit:D
Debt right now must be about £4.5k, I've kind of lost track of the exact figure - I shall try and sort out a new sig later, with the amounts on.
I think the house deposit pot is a fab idea:p I *should* have the degree in 3 years, so still 5 years til Em leaves me...assuming she does anyway - she might want to go to college here and stay with her old mum!
I shouldn't think about them growing up and moving away, it's still a while yet I know - I should concentrate on enjoying the ages they're at now!
You're definitely living up to your name today KM - I feel so much more motivated today:TI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
While I'm motivating you then
Is there interest on any of the debt?
If so could you pick the one with the largest interest and start throwing bits at it like you did with the holiday and maybe use your signature to show it going down to keep you motivated?
Its up to you, you've got to decide what is best for you but you seemed to save with that holiday with determination and organisation and dare I say 'ease'? So surely we know when you have a target you can meet it
So come on? Whats the first target?0 -
Oops may be mistaking motivating for bullying there lol0

Sorry, I nipped out to return some sale bits to Next that my mum ordered on her account - work trousers but didn't fit so saved me money!
I've just sat and written down all my debts...here's the list:
Lloyds loan - £2166 16%
Virgin cc - £1395 0% til June 2010
Egg cc - £895 thought it was 0% til Sept, but it must be August as some interest has gone on:mad: 16.9% now
Next - £232.75 24.49%
Littlewoods -£43.76 no interest
Marshall Ward - £97.88 39.7%
Total of £4827.....urghhhhh
So, obvious one to hit forst is the Marshall Ward one - it was DD1's birthday present on there, that's all I opened the account for as I had £20 off....mind you, I forgot one payment so they very quickly slap a £12 fee on....that makes me soooo cross, it doesn't cost them £12!!!
Anyway....I shall aim to get rid of that account asap....will write a better sig later on, the current one is useless as I've forgotten to count NSDs (if I've even had any this month:rolleyes:) and GC has fallen by the wayside too - but I'm probably on track to be within the £220.
You're not bullying KM, I need the firm hand:rotfl:I really need to sort out a new signature!0
