Glad you've had a nice time and that you can now get some much needed peace and quiet.
Good for you re the telly, like you say no credit so no harm and its sounds like you are like me and don't go out too often so its only the same as others spending on going out regularly, we have to have some treats. And let the ex stick it up his ****
As for keeping organised I too would like some tips!!!
Are you any good at spreadsheets they can help?
How right you are - I don't go out too often:rotfl: In fact, I have a feeling that the christmas night out with work last week was the only time this year I've been into town for a few drinks this year:o Had I been out every week, or even just every month, I would have spent more than the cost of the tv I think;)
(Looking forward to ex's face:rolleyes: He wanted to take my old, unusable (as it's so slow) laptop last week. When I said no he got really funny - 'What can I have then?' were his words!!!!!! Ummm, buy your own laptop/tv etc etc)
And yes, I could attempt the make £5 a month - but I really don't know how I'll do it. Running out of stuff to sell and neevr get to do overtime. Hmmmm, will have a think, thank you:AI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

A couple of tips from me re: organisation...
Firstly, only confess on here that which you want to. A couple of people have said to me that I am very inspirational, doubt they would say that if they saw me with dishes piled high having Ben and Jerrys for teaMake your thread about your successes not your failures and it will soon become self-motivating!
Spreadsheets - only do as much as you want to with these. Someone on the 4k challenge has a spreadsheet that frightens the bejeesus out of me. I'm only at the pace of being able to add/subtract with my sheets, and that works fine for me! My current spreadsheets consist of:
Monthly budget one (Rarely changes unless a direct debit goes up/down.) I only use this to make sure I'm sending the right amount to the bills account.
4k Challenge one. I will be updating this as often as I can, but find that doing it daily bores me!
Christmas/birthdays. I set one up today with how much the gift is in terms of RRP, how much I paid for it and who its for. I'm hoping this will keep me nice and organised!
If you want to be more organised in terms of housework, look at the Old Style board and check out the Flylady thread. I really need to do more of this in the New Year!
Hope thats of some use.

Hiya f_f....loads of ideas there for me:A
I really am pretty incapable when it comes to spreadsheets though....might have a go, but I end up sticking to notebook and pretty pens:rotfl:I need to do an up to date direct debit list to start the year, balance it up with income. i have a separate account that pays the bills, rent etc. Wages and HB go in that account which covers the outgoings, then I have my tax credits go into another account for weekly spends....food etc. Would love it all on a pretty spreadsheet, but need a lesson in that!I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Yes I'm the same...not sure how I'm going to make the money but I think people post ideas on the thread to help too... I've never ventured into mystery shopping maybe I should
MaybeI should list some books although not sure people will buy the fw I have!!!

If you're comfortable sending me your email addy by PM then I could send you mine....they're really basic but they work for me. I have a basic budget one for monthly bills and could send you the Christmas one too if you like.
They are in OpenOffice not Excel, but should convert ok.0 -
Meant to say - on Xmas eve I registered with So bingo...got my free £10 then won £27 on my 1st game of bingo:beer: You have to deposit £30 in total before you can withdraw so I'm off to do that now and hopefully take out my winnings!
Bed in a mo too, laptop and my book....am knackered - not had a decent sleep since Dec 23rd cos of poor DD2 and her cough - if she has it tonight I hope she keeps her dear father up til 4am:rotfl::rotfl:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Well, I deposited £25 and then withdrew £52 I think it was....so not bad in the end:j That was a total of £30 I paid in, so £22 won and £10 received from Paypal....£32 profit...cooooool:D (Should have saved it for the 'make £5 a day in Jan challenge tho') - mind you, by the time it clears it probably will be January:rolleyes: I might be off to a good start:T
Ok, must crawl off to bed now.....early, lovely:pI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

This was where I read about it - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2124925 but it looks like the £10 Paypal bonus has stopped now, shame. I just did it to get the £10, which would have made me £5 up but was then lucky with the bingo and won that £27 on Xmas eve:o
Will be keeping my eyes peeled for other offers - and reading BBAM's diary as she shares her good finds!!I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Tonight must be the 'getting organised for new year' night
I dont feel organised a lot of the time Milly, I think I must be though and I think its because I have a fear of losing control over my finances so I keep a daily check on what is where, a bit ocd really
I have similar spreadsheets to FF, mine are really really basic but they do the job. I have one for my mortgage pot amounts, each time I put some money into the pot I work out how much its saved me off the mortgage, helps keep me motivated on the long journeyI also have a gifts one, has separate sheets for xmas, birthdays etc, and lists all the people I but for, how much I intend to spend, what I have got them, how much it cost etc ... And the last one is just a word doc that Iwrite my plans for the year on. I have four or five of these now and I love going back to see what I wanted to do and whether I did it or not. Its all financial stuff on them but again it helps keep me focused on the bigger goal
Mortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000
Mortgage Overpayments Pot £10790 -
