It is not just you, after making the current situation clear I have given up.0 -
I tend to think that what I plan to do is quite unselfish. If everyone did what I plan to do, and that isnt something I would recommend just incase someon tries to make an issue of it, then the benefit system would be spared millions if not billions of pounds.
And its nothing to do with not wanting to get old or not wanting to live with a disability. Those are incidental.
ill save the government money by going ahead and killing myself then shall i? much better for you the tax payer and for that matter for the nhs, they would ahve to pay a lot less out on doctros.nurses and mental health wards if we all just got it over and done with! oh wait wonder why it is that they ahve the power to section people who are a danger to themselves, could it be that the government etc dont agree that suicide is th eright option?0 -
Oh I don't know how much money would be saved, the unemployment figures would swell if there were no disabled or frail elderly.
There is a huge team around my son who are mostly well paid for doing precisely nothing.

What part of 'I'm not recommending this to anyone else' did you not understand?purplecatlover wrote: »ill save the government money by going ahead and killing myself then shall i? much better for you the tax payer and for that matter for the nhs, they would ahve to pay a lot less out on doctros.nurses and mental health wards if we all just got it over and done with! oh wait wonder why it is that they ahve the power to section people who are a danger to themselves, could it be that the government etc dont agree that suicide is th eright option?0 -
oh i understood, but hey if its going to save that much money then its clearly the right thing to do, else why on earth would you have made that point? im ill, and cannot cope with working atm, therefore im wasting money by being supported by benefits so despite your saying your not recommending it it is logical that actually you are implying it is what we all should do.0

Can we drop this now as obviously NASA is at a low point and it is taking this thread off subject.purplecatlover wrote: »oh i understood, but hey if its going to save that much money then its clearly the right thing to do, else why on earth would you have made that point? im ill, and cannot cope with working atm, therefore im wasting money by being supported by benefits so despite your saying your not recommending it it is logical that actually you are implying it is what we all should do.0 -

I made an observation, and it was a fairly obvious observation, that if people did that then it would save money. It was hardly groundbreaking and in no way am I suggesting anyone else should do what I will do (And in my case its nothing to do with benefits anyway).
If your bothered by anything I have written then use the report post function.0 -

Having read the Green Paper, and having spent a lot of years involved with DLA etc., I can only say that there is NOTHING in the GP that suggests that DLA will be stopped, not for the future, and certainly not for existing claimants.
This GP is more about elderly care than anything else.
Besides which, this government will (I would think) be out of government by next year - and who can say what a future (Tory?) governmment will do - David Cameron has made it clear he supports the system of DLA.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.
