Boo for the cancelled treat and the frost. It's very icy here - took ages to scrape the car........why did I think it wa a good idea to move North?!

DD seems to have returned to the land of the living again - she was much more lively and fun this morning, so I've packed her off :)

    £4.76 came in from Amaz*n :)

Will have £56.66 to go into the mortgage tomorrow as
    * Qu!dco money is in
    * 6p interest received on my second bank account
    * £5 monthly reward received on my main bank account

I know I have my down moments about the mountain I have to climb, but it's amazing to think that prior to starting this diary, spare cash like this would have just trickled through my fingers, yet since August, I've managed to put aside nearly £1000 for holidays/party and have paid nearly £600 into the mortgage and had £200 available for the unfortunately cancelled holiday to Cornwall at half term when my back went. Wonderful......and awesome to think that I managed all of this whilst still paying all the bills :)

I wonder if I can get to a round £148k by the end of the year, that would feel good, but unlikely.

Grr, my flipping back is really hurting again today - I've been cutting down on the painkillers as I felt so much better and it's backfired (again). I need to contact someone at work about seeing a physio and mustn't procrastinate any longer, I'm getting hacked off with this now.

Anyway, whilst the above paragraph sounds grouchy, I'm actually in a good mood! Working from home today which is nice as I can move around a lot more and don't get distracted by people coming up to chat, I'm so busy with work I feel like I'm chasing my tail the whole time!

*sigh* DD's recovery was a false hope :( She was screaming in pain this afternoon and thankfully I was able to get a very last-minute appointment at the doctor's. Turns out the ear infection hasn't cleared up so we're trying another form of attack on it now. She's tucked up in my bed so lots of cuddles later!

Hi kittikins, just subscribed to your diary :) wel done on your OPs so far.
I am also a single mum with three kids trying to MF in 10 years (well 9 left now)
My DD also had an ear infection last week and was screaming in pain, she also has a horrible rash on your face which she is getting teased about and so she is getting stressed which is making me stressed! I hate it when the kids are ill.
Hope you get your back sorted out. I am really trying to make a conscious effort to sit up straight as I always slouch but it doesnt feel natural to sit up straight lol

Can I ask a really daft question? :o why do you put * and ! in your website names (ie amaz*n)

Hi Pammy, welcome to the least likely to ever be completed challenge on the whole of the site :rotfl::rotfl::o

Umm, the reason I put the asterisks and things in is so that if people google the brand names they don't come across my posts first, as MSE has a really high profile on google, and I suppose it's a kind of scenario of not wanting to give Amaz*n etc 'free' advertising. Or something like that....whoever it was I nicked the idea was far more eloquent!!

Good luck with your challenge? Have you got a diary - if so, I'll be hotfooting it over there to pick up some tips :) If not, post here, pull up a chair and have a glass of rose

    ah I see,
my challenge is just the same as yours, really hard to complete but I am actually amazing myself at how much I actually OP'd last year all on my own. I think because I have a goal that I am really really really (did I say really?) determined to do my upmost to complete I am trying my damned hardest!
Frugal living, even cooking from scratch to save money (and I hate cooking!!), every little helps :D

    Good luck

  • Awe I do feel sorry for you both...ear ache, back pain and tooth ache (no toothache thank goodness) are the 3 most painful ailments imo...truly climbing the wall awful!!! Take care of yourselves and when you are both up to it I think you both deserve a treat!

    Take care
