Thanks QB, I'm trying, but it's hard
I've been a total b1tch to my poor little girl this morning, she's only 4 and I got really angry about her breakfast, long story....and just life in general is getting me down today. Hopefully being in the office and being busy will get me through, I can already feel the clouds lifting a bit.
Thank goodness, 99% of the time I can cope with whatever !!!!!! life throws at me, the 1% when I can't is blooming gruesome!!0 -
I too can relate to the diet stuff but as Scarlett O'Hara says in Gone with the Wind "Tomorrow is another day"....
...chin up....

Thanks SMF, put a smile on my face
Feeling much chirpier now, bet I'll discover later on it's hormonal or something and then I'll feel like a right numpty, lol.....
In good news though, I paid £55 in to the bank today, proceeds of my terramundiNot sure yet if it's going to go to the mortgage or to the holiday, but will probably make my mind up soon!

:hello:Hope you're feeling much better! Don't beat yourself up about it everyone has off days, my ex has the capacity to wind me up without even doing anything..........that's what memories do for you
..........and an active / unhealthy imagination!
Good luck on the overpayments, sounds like you're doing really well. I'm still overpaying my maximum monthly amount but the other savings pot which was going to go to a lump sum overpayment at the end of the mortgage term looks more likely to be going to a deposit on a new houseBut that depends on OH and I deciding that we want to stay in our new city longer term. Which for me means deciding if I want to have a family away from my parents and sisters and for us as a couple means talking seriously about those things
Keep smilingMortgage as at March 2010 £225,000 target for December 2012 £170,000. Blog link http://beautifulorpractical.blogspot.com/2010/07/oh-this-is-all-new.html :j0 -
Thanks Louba, the sun is shining a bit more brightly for me today
I've transferred about £124 into a savings account to hold on to for either the mortgage or the holidays (including yesterday's £55).
I had an updated invoice through for my French holiday next year and thanks to all the early booking/single parent./etc etc discounts, the whole holiday, including insurance is cheaper than the (already discounted) ferry price! It's like they're paying me to go on holiday, lol. Such a shame it's not til next August, but it's good to have something to look forward to....0 -
Aaaaaawwwwww kittikins!!!!! i'm right with you!!!!! Having just read thorugh this thread I just want to hug you!!!! Me & fiance house hunting at mo and starting MFW journey soon. Sending on best wishes to you and your wee one!
Snowy x:j I feel I am diagonally parked in a parallel universe :j0 -
Thanks for the hug Snowy, very gratefully received
Good luck with househunting! I feel like I'm a carp MFW at the moment, but once I've worked out how I'm going to pay for my forthcoming holidays, then money will start going back into the mortgage again. I want to have the money put aside for all these trips in a separate savings account so that I feel safe:
1. need spending money for Cornwall trip at half term, the trip itself is paid for
2. need to pay £400 + spending money for a week in Devon next May
3. need to pay nearly £400 plus spending money for 2-week holiday to France next August.0 -
Morning Kittikins
I think its a great idea to save up for the holidays first before/while OPing.
We're putting money aside and collecting cashback where possible for a couple of holiday's next year. While it means that there's less funds for the mortgage we figure we got to enjoy ourselves tooCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

I'm with you on the wanting fun as well as the extra "fun" of overpaying
I have sold another of my unlistened to CDs on Amaz*n so that'll be another couple of pounds coming to swell the coffers. At the moment I'm not entirely sure how much "extra" I have each month as DD has started school and the childminder is thankfully a lot cheaper than nursery, but of course tax credits have changed accordingly. TC haven't sent me an update letter.
Hopefully by next month I can sit down and work out a real budget for the new lifestyle and with any luck should be able to save at least £200 a month.
Having the energy monitor (thanks to an offer I saw on here ages ago for NOTW/Briti$h Ga$) has really helped me - last quarter I had a £75 deficit on my electricity bill and was contemplating calling BG to get them to up my monthly DD from £17 to £25...I've just had notification of this quarter's bill and I'm not debt to them. Switching everything off that isn't 100% vital to life (i.e. just the fridge/boiler/modem are left on as apparently the modem will deteriorate quickly if I keep on switching on/off) has really helped me. Phew!0
