You sound like you are better off without that nuisance in your lives.
Stay positive and focus on the good thngs in your life.0 -
Yeah, I've got a fabulous daughter, some great friends and family and a nice house that is 75% owned by the bank - for now *insert evil money-making cackle here*
Have spent a stupid amount of money on shopping with DD, she will be eating well this week that's for sure! Ho hum....so much for a £40 grocery budget for the month, I shouldn't be allowed out of the house with credit cards when I'm hungover, lol.0 -
I know exactly how you feel about the utterly useless ex Kittikins, I have one of those too  I too think it would be better if he'd just do us all a favour and s*d off out of our lives. I hate the fact that I have to accomodate him, I dont speak to him unless absolutely necessary, but hate that I can't plan things at weekends before checking whether its my weekend/his weekend etc :mad:Mortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

Sometimes I long for the my/his weekend - DD occasionally goes away with him once every 6 weeks as he works a shift pattern and works all other weekends, so historically that has been my one night every 6 weeks to be able to go out/have friends over!! (He's often been "too busy" to have her even that one night, so really I suppose its less stressful to just never go out, lol)
However, I can't see the new woman wanting to share him.....or me wanting DD to go to the dodgy part of London he says they live in to stay with him and a stranger. Yuk, all this to look forward to...or not hopefully!
Anyway, at least I've got back on the diet waggon and have just one week of work before half term and our holiday in Cornwall. Yippee!0 -
Hi Kittikins,
Lots of hugs to you, he sounds like a right w***Er and I'm sure youre much better without him around. hope DD is ok?

Hello peeps, I'm back in myself again - am still furious with ex for being such an insensitive, selfish [insert insulting word of choice here], but instead of being self-destructive (food/booze) and being angry, today I feel lardy, have horrible heartburn but my head is back where it should be, which is going to make today a much happier day for me
We had a great day yesterday, cuddled, sang, read stories and had a little walk early on and then in the afternoon we went to a lovely birthday party at a school hall with T*mblet0ts organising the fun. DD played with her best friend (who unfortunately goes to a different school now) and the girls liked the party so much that me and bf's mummy have already booked them a joint party for their 5th in March next year!
Yup, another thing to save for....going to be £85 each (gulp) but that includes the hall hire and the energetic entertainment. I'm so excited for her already - nostalgically, it's mirroring my life too! I had a joint 5th birthday party with my then best friend too and of all the parties I had as a child, it's the one I remember the most fondly
Luckily DD hasn't been affected by seeing her dad (apart from sleeping with me, which she always does after a visit from him - whilst on the outside she's happy to see him and knows that I'm a constant in her life, she always sleeps badly on her own after a visit, and nowadays just asks me if she can sleep in my bed, which is easier all round).
Today, we're going to go down to Brighton and do a bit of shopping, maybe be ladies wot lunch and of course monkey about in the nippy sunshine on the beach
Tomorrow - back to money making/saving!0 -

Thanks benben, here's hoping I can get DD out of the house, she's wanting cuddles and CBe*bies at the moment, lol. Not a biggie if we stay in though, I like cuddles!0

Phew! We managed it:
beach - tick
icecream - tick
shopping - tick
ladies wot lunch - J*mie 0liver Italian restau, yum yum
A lovely day, best bits were finding a pebble on the beach with indentations that looked like a smiley face, and DD spontaneously thanking me for bringing her out for a lovely day and telling me she loves me
Shame the diet/moneysaving hasn't happened again today. Tomorrow is another day...0 -
I have just spent the past hour and a bit reading this entire thread and am now sat here feeling very guilty about all my unnecessary spending ( jumper, jeggings, running top and socks just this weekend :eek::eek:).
We too have a huge mortgage and its so nice to hear there are other people out there who do have huge mortgages all of our friends have them of between 30 and 70k ours is £197. We are currently only on repayment for £50k but going on full repayment in April and then plan to overpay a little ( or hopefully even a lot) each month then we too should be mortgage free before 50 ( maybe even 45 for me and 50 for OH) if we are very good MFW people. I know April is a long way off but I thought if I posted on your thread and subscribed you could help keep my inspired between now and then adn the I too can join the MFW journey with you . So far you are doing a cracking job, have you tried B!ng0port??? Mystery shopping?? Surveys maybe??? Slice the pie??? Just a few ideas.
