Do you buy from CD WOW!?
I use CD WOW as my main Source for shopping DVD's and CD's.
The reason for this is: Good prices combined with a fantastic customer service
If you do, what would make it better for you?
As noted before me, A larger range of products and a improved search engine, wich at the moment can be very poor.0 -
I don't buy too many CDs or DVDs these days, but when I do, it's almost always with CD-Wow, although I also use suppliers in Canada. I also find that CD-Wow don't stock everything I may be looking for.
Since PB started, when I have ordered from CD-Wow, I always order through PB. Points awards have been made very promptly. This tracking system works extremely well, and I suspect that that may be because CD-Wow are very experienced operators in this type of thing.
I use CD-Wow because I found them reliable, good value, and they offer the same postage rates to addresses over here as to the UK. Some places will not deliver outside UK. There is nearly always some kind of voucher that can be used to reduce the cost of the order - even if it is one of the 50p ones they issue themselves.
However, I generally use a DVD search engine to find me the cheapest price. I then decide whether to use CD-Wow or not.
There is nothing in particular that would make me buy more often or in greater quantity. I already have more DVDs than I know what to do with (and many still in their cellophane!), and I have so many other activities (like annoying people on MSE) that I never seem to find time to watch them!

I have placed a couple of orders for cds and dvds, mainly for my daughter. However, I do find the site hard to navigate, and the selection quite poor. Also price is a factor and I do shop around for the best price, in true mse style, I do seem to purchase more from play.com.0

I am not sure if it was me or them
Sooooo, mailed 'em and they were soooooo nice, they are sending me a Freepost bag to return the thing
AND will send me the right thing.
If the customer service is as good by the end I am a convert! I always go by customer service.
I ordered a kiddies' DVD and got a 50 Cent (the rapper) one...And it definitely wasn't my fault as I had a confirmation email etc. Anyway, they did sort it out (freepost bag, like you described), but it does make me think now, do they do these mix-ups quite often?
(I've ordered from Play and Amazon a million times and have never had the wrong item sent...)0 -
>> Do you buy from CD WOW!
Yes, mainly new-release CDs but the odd DVD and PSP game too.
>> If you do, what would make it better for you?
I'd like more discount vouchers, such as the £1 off/extra Piggypoints deals which Pigsback do.
I also redeem my Piggypoints as CD Wow vouchers so I would like Pigsback to reduce their 'cut' of what it costs to get a voucher.
If a Piggypoint is worth a penny, it is hardly fair for Pigsback to charge 1080 points for a CD Wow voucher worth £8.75.
I'm sure Pigsback have offered an explanation for this before but I still don't think it's fair. Sorry Darragh but you did ask!
And how about a few bonus Piggypoints for the MSEers who have taken the trouble to reply to your free survey?
I think it's fine to use these forums to touch base with Pigsback users (that is, after all, how Darragh responds to people's concerns/queries when he gets the chance, and fair play to him for doing so) but a small gesture would be welcome. I'm sure Martin would agree that the main reason for this site's existence is to save its users money rather than to make money for the site.
Even if you pick someone at random (and I would exclude myself from this of course, as a lot of people on these boards contribute a lot more than I do, especially to this thread) and give them a few bonus points?

Yes, I've bought a cd from cd wow, It was delivered promptly and my piggypoints were credited quickly. I've also used my points for a voucher although somehow I managed to get locked out of the cd wow site half way through ordering and had to wait 12 hours before I could "reuse" the voucher code.
I do wish that the choice of dvd's particularly for children was wider but I'm sure there's nothing you can personally do about that Darragh. There is a forgotten, nay almost forbidden word which means more to me than any other. That word is England.

Just a quick reply to DS...
Sorry!
I think I have mis-interpreted your posts and taken your sense of humour a bit too seriously, and I am sorry. I was under the impression with a few posts a while ago that you came across a bit harsh to some of the newbies, but I guess I did over-react a bit and I blame it all on the stress of moving house!!
I'd offer you the beer icon but I haven't got a clue how to do smilies properly on here! lol!0 -

Yes, occasionally
>If you do, what would make it better for you?
Basically, I do a price comparison among my favorite cheap CD sites, and pick the cheapest one. If CD-WOW is the cheapest, I prefer to use Pigsback to accumulate points with clickthroughs.
3 CT's today, 80more PP for another voucher! woo hoo0
