One of the few things I use my Pigsback points for is CD-Wow vouchers (that and the excellent pens
) - mainly used for DVD's and PC Games, although as has already been mentioned, their selection is pretty mediocre - just that there aren't really any other vouchers that Pigsback do that I'd use (I'd like online ones - maybe for Dabs, IWOOT, Firebox or even Boots online).
On the CD-Wow site I'd like to see more "gadgets", more PC Software and yes, a better search/browse system. In fact, more of everything!!0 -
I also use CDWow if the price for the item I'm looking for is cheapest. I buy CDs/DVDs occasionally for myself and throughout the year for various birthdays so the types vary.
(Interestingly I've not used Play.com much recently as they've rarely been best price but it appears the trend is generally the opposite for many people! )
Pros and Cons of CDWow: Pro - I received excellent customer service last Christmas when I contacted them to say a box set I'd bought as a present was rattling and I was concerned about damage. They swiftly sent a replacement and return postage. I find prices generally very competitive. Credit also for trying to expand with the extra search facility for the 'warehouse' catalogue (though better to just have everything listed as stock to avoid people missing that function).
Cons - I pre-ordered Harry Potter with them and didn't get it till 5 nailbiting days after release. There were sad faces in my household and it compared unfavourably to other internet suppliers operating outside the UK who've nevertheless delivered on the day of release... I bought a film for my BILaw's birthday - and the following day the price was down £2 - physically painful to a moneysaver! The aforementioned 'warehouse' promising 1000s more items of stock is unwieldy - having to search a second time and still doesn't necessarily net what you want. I also find the product screen a bit ambivalent about telling you if items are in stock and ready to be sent out. They always put a few too many random bits of paper in the packaging as standard. Bad enough if it's debris to you the first time, upsetting if you've ordered several things. (But that's my greener side carping)
I will happily continue to buy from CDWow for extant titles, or new things I'm not in a rush for, if the price is right. Piggypoints are very helpful and will sway the decision over the same price elsewhere or possibly a small difference if I've not used another company before. I really liked the double PP promotion and also commend the swift and seemingly routine arrival of PP on CDWow orders.Do I Need One Stops All Unnecessary Reckless Spending£2 CSC - £30 :kisses3:0 -
Just wanted to say thank you pigsback - ordered my first voucher on Monday night (for a Waitrose voucher) and it arrived this morning!!!!! Now that is VERY quick service!!!!0

i shop from cd wow obviously if i have a voucher code but if it comes to spending my own money, i shop around and go for the cheaper option.
the selection on cd wow is limited with a mediocre back catelogue that is quite expensive.
i support other people's ideas on a better choice of vouchers on pigsback - perhaps Amazon or blahdvd (who have more departments than cd/dvd). For example, I would like to order books with my piggypoints but with the current choice of vouchers, this is limited.Thomas Jefferson: "When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on."

One reason I don't use CDWow as much as I used to is that I've had a couple of CDs from them that have copy protection on them (whereas the version you buy in the shops in this country doesn't). When I buy a CD I want to be able to rip it to my computer for use on my Mp3 player. If there was something on the CDWow page to say whether it was a copy-protected version or not then I might be more inclined to use them.0

Time to dust off my "grumpy old man" hat.....
Whilst reading about everyone's different CD-Wow habits is undoubtedly fascinating to some, I'm sure there must be more people than just me who are finding this ever so slightly tedious
This is, after all, a thread about Pigsback. And yes, whilst there is a tenuous link between all these CD-Wow posts and Pigsback, the last 40-50 posts have become a general appraisal of CD-Wow and all its virtues/faults
Interesting for CD-Wow I'm sure, and useful for whatever purpose Darragh had in mind, but that's not the purpose of this site, or this thread
Sorry to moan, but when you've skim-read all of these threads to make sure you're not missing any useful and relevant (ie PB-related) information, it does begin to grate slightly
May I suggest that any future comments about how wonderful or rubbish CD-Wow is, be put on a separate thread, or PM'd straight to Darragh; and that this thread returns to the point of what we're here for....ie Pigsback?
And may I also back-up a comment made some posts ago, that all these people who have bothered to write (often lengthy) posts about CD-Wow, purely for Darragh/PB's benefit, be rewarded with Piggy Points

I see a lot of people are saying CDWOW is hard to find items or they dont stock it. Have you tried searching in their Warehouse section?
Failing that try these links to see everything they have in stock:-
