I also had a problem with it not cutting the whole way round mine seem to cut on the 2sides only so I got round this by putting through bug once and then turning the die around and putting through again hth
the other poblem I had was that the sticker on the top of the die has started to wear off and is stuck to my cutting plates now.
Thanks Dragonllew. Well, OH has been encouraging me to put it through the bug even though it's so hard, I've made him promise to buy me a new one if it breaks :rotfl: .
Did you cut yours into the different sections so you're only using one die at a time? What if you want to make a frame, you'd need two of the dies, does it cut OK then? And did you take the white foam bits out of the holey bits? Sorry for so many questions.TomsMum - Sorry I've no idea BUT when I use my swirl die (no idea what make!) I left the foam on the die & it never cuts through properly so I have to tease the swirls out. Daft idea but have you tried turning the sandwich the other way up A + B + cardstock + die (face down) C?
Or email Ikki? I think she's used these dies.
Thanks Marg. Yes, I've tried the sandwich both ways. I've checked on Ikki's site, she has a couple of posts with Nellie's frames on but no detailed instructions like with some of her other things. Where is there a link to email Ikki from her site, I've looked and can't find one (I might be being thick today!). When she posted on here I sent her a PM to ask about linking to her site and showing my version of her card but I've had no answer so I gather she hasn't come back on here.
PS. It's OK, I've done a comment on her blog, hopefully I'll get an answer.0 -
flourgirl - can you send me some diam cake
. The striped paper and the rest were freebies from http://crafterskitchen.blogspot.com/search/label/Free%20Images
I just printed them off. (Someone put a link for this site on an earlier post - thanks)
I got some of those baubles from Tesco just before Christmas - I filled half of them with red and gold ribbons and instead of a photo I printed off names and used them as place names for Christmas dinner. I put one into each persons glass.
Jigga - love your cards (elephant is sooo cute) and a fellow cross-stitcher too :T
Marg - thanks for the instructions - I'll follow them for my next photo. Was going nuts last night trying to get it to work. It either didn't show up at all or it was HUGE! You have saved my sanity
I'm gonna try a tea-bag folding card next, wish me luck.0 -
Forgot to ask - my printer is really old and has started printed double images. I was thinking of getting a new one. Can anyone recommend a good one - don't want to spend a fortune but I want something decent. Thanks0

Does anyone know if anywhere sells die cuts? I can't afford a machine at the moment and there's a shape I'd like! it's the curvy brackets one, I can't keep printing and cutting it out it's starting to become annoying lolGC July: £0/£1200

Hello, long time lurker of this thread, not a card maker but a wanna b one!!! It's on my list of things to do!
If anyone is buying this months Cardmaking & Papercraft Mag for the Free Papers, you might like to know that Tesco have a bonus pack of Beatrix Potter Toppers in with it (sorry if it's been posted).Forgot to ask - my printer is really old and has started printed double images. I always buy my printers based not only on the print quality, but the cost of replacement cartridges. Personally, I'd go for an Epson or Brother printer. I currently have a Brother printer which is getting on for 5 years old. It has been truly used and abused is still going strong (although I suspect its days are now numbered). It's been used for both business and crafting purposes. I used original cartridges during the warranty period and then switched to compatible cartridges after that. The original replacement ink cartridges are very reasonably priced and the compatible ones are exceptionally cheap (I think it costs me something like £3 for a set of 4 carts) . Also, as both printers have seperate coloured inks it means the ink usage is more economical as you only replace the colour that has run out. In addition, the colour laid down is supposed to be superior to that of two ink cartridge machines. HTH0 -
Lyndach - you might try http://www.diannesdiecuts.co.uk/ I have no idea how they are at mail order but I bought some scalloped ovals from them at the last Harrogate Show and they were OK. £2 for a mix of sizes in B & W.0

wanna-b-rich - :hello:thanks for the printer advice. I've got an HP one at the moment with 2 cartridges but its so old the software won't install properly on the lappy which has Vista. I like the sound of the price of your ink though, makes me realise how expensive ours are. :beer:0

Hello all :j Super stuff on your blogs :T
sally - thanks. Glad your OH got things explained to him -does help when you know whats what.
OH not out of the woods yet but boffin seems to think its sort of scarring left from previous infection (mind you he said that last time) ..........CT scan hopefully will show clearer than last time.
OH definitely feeling much better though and that has to be a good sign I think. Hate waiting so long for the scan but at least it makes it sound non-urgent...........last time it was 2 weeks inbetween tests, results appts.
rainmac - hope the kids are getting betterI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Hi ladies, hope you have all had a productive day. We spent 2hours trying to get out of IKEA today!! What a nightmare I don't think we will bother going there again. Managed to find a dirty table to quickly drink a luke warm coffee, didn't bother with the diam cake it looked a bit mauled
However DH bought some batteries and while he paid I did go to the food section and buy some of the meatballs and sauce to try at a later date.. Bought a sandwich from Greggs in the shopping centre and nothing else, came home via my Mums for coffee. Think we will stick to Meadowhell in future lol
