morning all, what a week I've had! been reading and trying to keep up but not had time to write anything substantial! we had the kittens spayed yesterday so I was hoping for some peace and quiet last night, nope they slept for a couple of hours after I got them home then they were running around like maniacs again!
I am off work now until the 29th December yay :j

Enjoy your time off with your maniac kittens, bless them xxx

Well it looks like we're going to give it a go. Thermals, fleeces and wellies all packed. Will tell Father Christmas I've been very good and see if he'll buy me a washing machine (failing that I'll have to ask him where to get one in the sales!)

    Wish me luck!

:T:j:T YAY!!!! Wifey thats brilliant news, have a fantastic time. It was my pleasure to make the reindeer for you. xx

DTB Oh no just what you dont need at this time of the year to have to buy a new washing machine!! Hope you manage to get away camping, looks like you will need loads of lovely snowman soup!

Rusty I hope your little one is soon better, having a new bedroom to sleep in and be all grown up is maybe just the tonic she needs. S*d about your DH's motorbike test yesterday, better to be safe than sorry though.

Oh Gemm I'm so jealous of your little kittens, my DH said if we sell the caravan :( we could have some. No chance then!! Enjoy your time off work.

Rainmac I hope your boys enjoy the football, they probably won't notice the cold until its time to come home! It was so generous of you to give your Snowman cakes away, I bet the kids really enjoyed them. Is mine in the post :D lol

DH is just back from his walk so I had better go and warm up some soup to thaw him out.
  • At we have our decorations up :D. Well just waiting for DD to come back from her friends house to do the tree we kind of encouraged her to stay out the way while we faffed about as she just gets under our feet.

Was supposed to be out on work night last night but after it took me twice as long as usual to get home yesterday plus having to help the social services bus out of the lane (it's not even up hill) I decided that venturing out in a flimsy dress and heels wasn't on my agenda as driving in ice and snow really frightens me for some stupid reason and I had to go 30 miles to get there - spent the evening curled up on the sofa in my penguin pjs with the last twilight book instead :D.

Was going to the butchers this morning to order the meat but somehow it's now 2pm
Still need to find the kitchen after OH's baking - his choc cake was lovely - he brought the last bit back with him last night ;)
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p

  • Afternoon everyone. I hope you are all well and surviving this cold snap - brrrrrrrrr!!

I thought since I am now an avid follower of this thread that I should make the effort and start posting more often.
The Wife – so pleased to hear the news about your flights. Have a fantastic Christmas trip :snow_laug
Rusty – hope DD's eyes are better soon and hugs to you, I know how you feel. My ds used to have to have drops to dilate his pupils when he went to the opthamologist when he was a little 'un. It was so traumatic all round – he was in tears, I was in tears :o
Gemm85 – enjoy your time off work – woo hoo! :T
Rainmac – I wouldn't be without my laptop now, it beats our old desk pc hands down. Know what you mean about things breaking at Xmas – last year it was our washing machine that went so I know how you feel Dawnteabag - couldn't you just do without it
Paddingtondoo – sorry you missed your night out, sounds like you had a good alternative tho'. Add a couple of glasses of red wine and I'd be in heaven (must be getting old lol)
Myzdamena – hugs, get well soon.

Sorry if I have missed anyone.

Take care all - will pop back later before Strictly,

    Thriftyxxx

    Hello all :j
More snow last night and it hasn't shifted all day -good job trip to sons was abandoned...........roads here are dreadful. Fingers crossed its gone by Monday so I can meet them at halfway point at Peterborough and do a swap over, quick coffee at service station and home.
OH is talking about going to Skegness for a look round on Tuesday............his specs need fixing........the blu taks ok but tends to re-mould itself after a while on his nose..............lol
Made another card for MIL -seemed to take me all morning. She didn;t receive the first one -if she doesn't get it for Christmas it'll do for New Year.............if it gets there.
Made a notebook as well............and another peg magnet thingy for the girl who hoovers for me. Thought I'd do her a little 'bag of bits' and now run out of ideas:confused:

Hope you've had a good day
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
