Hello from snowy Northampton :santa2:. DS1's school is closed today but DS2's preschool is open. Tiried to get to the preschool but the roads there are bad (all narrow B roads) so we turned round and came home. Had 30 snowman cakes going begging (as we couldn't make it to the preschoo party) so walked them round the corner to the children out playing in the snow and managed to get rid of most of them ;)

Got to venture out at somepoint as got some photos to collect from Tescos and a Wii game to pick up from Argos.

Lyndach, love your card, I can't believe that's your first ever card, it's brilliant :T How about words on the bottom 'step' and some xmasy decorated paper on the other two?

Padster, fad news about your shoulder, please don't do too much too soon x

Flourgirl. maybe your postie is nicking your stamps to use on their own cards  :rotfl:

Got my fingers and everything else crossed that the snow clears up a bit so DS1 and his dad can get to the footie tomorrow, Jack has been looking forward to it for weeks, will be a huge shame if they can't get there.

Hope everyone stays warm and safe xxx

Rusty - Any news yet? I'm sat here with everything crossed for him to pass!

Lyndach - Fantastic card for a first - I'd put the 'Happy Christmas' on the front step & paper as Rainmac says or if you haven't any just a bit of gold trim on the others. HTH

Bunbun - Frenzied card activity going on here too!

Whoopidoo & Flourgirl - No snow in my part of 'Up North' but some inland.

    Take care all, Please

    Hi Lyndach

That is a fantastic first card, I've not attempted one of those yet. I agree with Rainmac about putting some Christmassy paper on the steps. Might be a bit tricky now that it's "made up". If you do another one put the paper on the different parts first then your topper on last.

If I get stuck for ideas I google for inspiration. I put side stepper cards into google and came up with this, a few of those sites have some examples. Also some online craft shops have galleries, and sites like Docrafts and Imag-e-nation.

Hi everyone else, not sure if I'm a bit envious of your snow. Being on the coast we have it cold but rarely get snow, we actually have a beautiful sunny day with blue skies here again today.

I managed to get the three cards for my grandchildren done, although not all in one day. I'm really pleased with them and have just one more left to do now.

For those of you with school age children - I hope they enjoy their holidays and don't drive you mad with anticipation over the next week.

For everyone, be careful if you have to drive anywhere with the weather as it is.

Must dash off and do some *****work (don't want to say a dirty word!) while OH's at his hospital check up. He was expecting to stay overnight for a transfusion but I think they're saving it for next week!

    Hello all :j
Been snowing here all day -looks like visit to son tomorrow will be doubtful...........luckily young girl who hoovers for me said she'll take me on Monday(weather permitting) if I don't make it over the weekend. Means I won't see my son or the older grandkids but can't be helped............we can't control the weather and I'm taking no chances tomorrow if it looks dodgy.
OH should bve able to make the short journey to drop stuff off at my friends before she goes away on Wednesday..............failing that she can have them when she comes back after Boxing Day.
Oh eck..........this rate I might as well re-arrange Christmas altogether,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,lol
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

    Blasted snow!
We're due to go and see Father Christmas this weekend with my sister who got back for her Chrismas Break from Afganistan this week. We didn't want to impose on her though so had booked to camp close by - not as mad as it sounds - Mum has a lovely new campervan with heating, toilet etc - heck it's even got a microwave.
Rang the site to check today and they have 6 inches of snow.
Now what are we going to do?
Off to look at hotels I suppose. My poor Credit Card!
