  • Unfortunately I was never off hoovering duties Flourgirl and am off window cleaning duties for now as I can't get near them due to all the cards on the windowsill :D. Thank you for yours with chich and coffee Yum!

Thank you to Rainmac and Choccy too!

I have one final exercise to do that involves standing facing the wall with my nose pressed against it - don't think I'll be doing that one at work :rotfl::rotfl:

    evening everyone

my great plans for today didn't work out. I planned to make my Christmas cards whilst reading/posting on the forum onmy new laptop. however it didn't work like that! I mananged to make most of my cards but am still a few short to post tomorrow. I want to post them second class as I think they may be too thick for normal post and don't want tobe paying first class large. I also had tomake the teacher's presents for tomorrow...stressed is an understatement!
it is also snowing here which means it will take ages to get to school tomorrow. I think I need to go to bed!

  • The_Wife - hope you feel better after your tumble - sounds like something that I would do!! Happy Anniversary for tomorrow.

Flourgirl - I can imagine her book would be a good read - she's very entertaining - I can't believe that she didn't get on with Aggie - did she mention why? Your garden looks lovely - there's no sign of snow up here - and where's my cherry scone - I love glace cherries!!!

Whoopidoo - have you found those books yet???

Sally - the kids are really excited about xmas. We haven't taken them to see Santa yet - we'll probably try and do it next week. They both finish early tomorrow and me Mum and sister are paying us a visit. I let them open their presents that they've bought so that my Mum and Sis can see their faces so of course the kids can't wait. Your anniversary card is lovely - very "golden".

Rusty - I'm sure your OH will love the cards from your kids - your teacher's presents are great - no wonder she loved them - the papers are fab!

Paddingtondoo - I love those penguins - they look lovely and warm. I'm glad you got good news from the hospital.

Mary - your twig tree sounds amazing - wish I could see it!

Ali - wow - more snow pics - your kids look like they were having a great time! Your card is fab!
  • Just a quick post from me!!

OH has just popped out to get us some tea, he got home safely but drove through -2 and -3 degree temps and lots of snow blizzards etc!! .... It is snowing in a fashion here .... well that is sort of true, we have big hailstones which are settling!! only problem is they thawed out earlier on and left the floors soaking, now they have frozen so it is like an ice rink!! .... OH has his bike test tomorrow which we think will be cancelled but he still has a 30 min (normal weather journey) to find out if he will be taking his test or not!! (not happy about anyone being on the roads in this weather!!

Please please anyone who HAS to go out in this weather, please take care, there are too many idiots on the road and also it is almost christmas!! christmas should be spent with family!! .... be safe everyone! xxx

Melissa there wsas nothing in Kims book about Aggie really, only the last chapter when she got the job on How clean is your house but I have found
    this

also if you google her name you can read about how she buried her stillborn baby alone in a park. Poor Kim.

Good mornin ladies, welcome to winter. Its still snowy here and freezing cold, does make it feel more like chistmas though. Kids break up from school today so I hope it stays so they can at least have a run round in it.

Cleaning and washing today for me, well this morning anyway, then out with friends for a christmassy lunch at the pub, yum yum!

GD staying over tonight so I think we will make some more tree decorations and maybe some choc chip cookies.

Melissa - No I haven't yet. Library is very slow!

Been snowing and thunder and lightning all night, now the lights keep flickering, hope we don't lose 'leccy as we don't have central heating just small 'leccy heaters :(

Youngest insisting she wants to go to school (school party) - eldest already gone back to bed. Can't see schools being open as lots of the roads onto the island are closed so teachers may not be able to get in and people being advised not to drive anyway.

Morning all!! .... last night it snowed/hailed some more!! ... has settled a fraction but not massive amounts, and still very icy! OH left 30 mins ago so just waiting to hear if he got there safe/if the test is cancelled but I know it will be.

Flourgirl - What is the name of that book, you have leaked bits out and it seems like a very good read so could you give me the name so I can see if I can pick it up from somewhere please?

Last day at school today, they break up at 2! ... can't wait for a couple of lie ins next week and then the big day itself!!

Has anyone else made the little house thingy from craftwork cards?? I am really struggling to keep them together!! the red one I made for DS one side of the roof pops open all of the time!! I have tried DST, then when that didn't work I tried PVA glue, and that didn't hold it so yesterday tried some (quite strong) glue dots!! and this morning it is open again :( I have a second one part made but not stuck any of it together yet as I know I will encounter the same problems!! .... any ideas?

Please please be safe if you are venturing out today (cor I sound like an old woman!! I'm not honeet I just care about people!)

here you go Rusty. Why not try and get it from your library.

What about something like superglue or bostik. Or, send an email to CC and ask them what to use.

    Good luck to your DH.

good luck to your OH rusty

it snowed here overnight. the roads aren't too bad but the traffic is so slow. I decided to walk to school with the boys as it was quicker than driving. last time we walked it took us an hour:eek: luckily after about 15 minutes we saw someone who lives on our estate and she asked if the boys wanted a lift so that was great as once I had walked home most of the morning would have gone.

    still making Christmas cards!
