Rainmac - My oldest son loves staying round other people's houses whereas the youngest enjoys his home comforts and would rather stay here. Last time Leo stayed at his cousin's house Brandon came down the stairs in tears stating that he "missed his brother. Congrats on selling 3 nappy cakes and good luck getting everything ready for Sunday - make sure you take plenty of pics to show us!
Ali - that sounds like a great idea for a card. By the sounds of it the sentiments are just to be cut up and glued on like you said!0 -
Thanks for your advice Melissa - I have finished the card. Not too happy with how it looks though - apart from sticking the welly in the wrong place doh! so the card now opens up over instead of the normal way you would open a card - It scares me sometimes how daft I can be
Where I have cut the shape out and then stuck the paper on and trimmed you can see little bits of white from the card - does that mean I need sharper scissors to get a better finish?

Hi wam73 :hello:
Polly - lovely baby card, congratulations to abusybee :j
Rusty - so glad you've got your mojo back, enjoy your crafting
Lei - fab card, I fancy having a go at iris folding :T. Did you buy the strips ready cut, or did you do them yourself ?
Rainmac - I am sooo jealous of you going to see U2, I went to see them on their last tour and loved it but they're not coming to manchester this time . Hope you enjoy your meal on saturday (good excuse for lots of ice cream ?;)) and GOOD LUCK for Sunday. Congratulations on selling the nappy cakes too :T
ali - sorry I should have said - the card template is supposed to open up and over, not side to side ie the fold is at the top of the handle not the side. I struggle to get a perfect fit of papers on shaped cards - maybe someone more experienced can advise us both ? Well done on doing your first card :T0 -
Ali - congrats on finishing your first card!!!!! I do some ridiculously stupid things sometimes when I'm crafting - so you're not alone!
I've put some more cards on my blog that I've received from you lovely ladies!!!! I've also managed to do a scrapbook page - pic also on my blog.

Skiergirl - no probs. I have an ordinary card and then just cut the welly shape out and then stuck it to the front of the card that had been covered with fancy paper and then cut another one out and put it on top (like decoupage - but nowhere near as good!!!) If you know what I mean. :rolleyes:0

Can I just ask another quick question- are you all self taught - or did you take any classes - as all your cards look so professional! Just had a quick nosy on your blog melissa - lovely cards (and lovely new baby!)0

Ali - I think most of us are self taught. I used to watch Dawn Bibby on qvc (normally 2-4 on Tues), for tips and techniques - that really helped when I first started out - I didn't buy anything though as their prices are expensive!0

I cut loads of 1 1/2 cm strips myself with a craft knife and metal ruler though in hindsight it would have been easier to use my guillotine  Had a quick Google though and you can buy packs of 100 strips for about a £1.20 and there's loads of free templates knocking around! x0 -

Ali, I need to have a bit of a tidy up of my crafting stuff soon and would be more than happy to send you a few bits and bobs to bump up your stash. Please send me a PM if you are interested x:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
