  • Thanks for that watercolour tip. I have whispers, they do for me as I don't colour in that often, nice to know there's another technique though.

I made a decision to get a big shot. :D Mum's given me money for my birthday and I'm blowing the lot of craft stuff. What was the website where they did great deals on die cuts (alphabets) before Christmas? And when is it likely that they'll have another sale?

I managed to get a set of the Papermania Watercolour Markers today. I intended to use them for the water colour technique I was shown, but decided to try them for colouring in as well. I'm no expert and it was my first digi stamp, but I coloured the same image using Promarkers and PWM and was pleasantly surprised by the result achieved by the PWM's. It wasn't as good as the Promarkers, but the colours definately didn't lay down streaky, there was good solid block of colour which blended fairly well. I also didn't have a blender for the PWM's which I think would have made things better.

Think this has been answered, but it was Sizzix UK. They keep changing the offers on the alphabet dies, so it's worth keeping an eye on the ones you are interested in. Also, there have been a few Alphabet Dies on eBay recently for quite reasonable prices. HTH

I have really dumb question that I hope someone will answer for me (I've only made one card and have only used rubber stamps for heat embossing and imprinting in clay etc (not for producing an image to colour in).... so forgive my ???'s) :o..........I have a gorgeous digi stamp freebie that I want to use, but I'm not sure what to print it on.I printed it out earlier on ordinary printer paper, which was ok but not brilliant. So (finally) here's my question - what paper/card should I use for digi printing? Also, what does everyone else stamp onto when using rubber stamps for producing an image to make a card with? TIA

I'm loving all the makes on everyones blogs, but seriously struggling to keep up!
  • Oooh just went on the glitter pot site and have fallen in love with those Hero Arts princess stamps...does anyone know if they stamp well?

Lil P - I'm jealous of your colouring ability!! I'm using watercolour pencils too, but I'm always to scared to actually put water on the picture, lol.

    Good Morning Ladies

Hope everyone had a good weekend?

I was getting over a shock that happened last Thursday - you can read the update here, so have tried to take my mind off things by being busy making one nappy cake, two mother's day cakes and 7 cards!

Hope everyone else is keeping well? I'm loving everyone's makes recently. Sometimes I wish I could use images, but I've not really managed to get into that for some reason? Maybe it's just the colouring in that I'm lazy about?

Can I say "Hi", I don't think I've posted on this thread until now. Have been making cards for a few years now, but of late it seems that I have bought more craft stuff and little card making actually takes place. So, with the gift of some nesties for Christmas and some Forever Friends stamps in January, I have taken the plunge and am determined to actually get on and make some cards this year.

Why didn't anyone tell me that watercolour pencils were so good? Before you all start screaming about copics and promarkers, I quite like the lighter tones/shades that brush markers give, so promarkers/copics don't quite appeal to me as I find them a bit bold. I bought a large tin of w/c pencils from WH Smith a few months back but as usual only decided to have a play with them last night... and wished I'd done it sooner - I was in heaven! It has really fed my appetite to do more stamping and I have spent today playing around with stamped images and different colours/tones. I have a fair few stamps but always found it a bit messy using the brush markers so the w/c pencils are a dream in comparison. I love them!

Here's a card I have made this evening:

    Wow. Love the colouring in.

Morning all, hoping everyone is ok today, right catchy up time:

Glittermum - your post it note holders are lovely.
Jazabelle - Hope you are better now - I wish I had more punches i.e. various sizes of round ones and scalloped edges and straight edges. I got a Big Shot for christmas so thinking of nesties - but for ease I think punches are quicker.
CT - your cards are all lovely.
Lil p - your card is lovely - love the watercolouring. I like the look of watercolours but not very artistic can get away with pro markers (and even then sometimes:eek:), I would be worried everything would be waterlogged, do you only need a damp brush???
Toms mum - Brilliant!!! I bet your daughter will be chuffed!!
Sally - lovely makes!! Hope things are ok - and your children are ok ((hugs))

Morning all, Sorry I have been AWOL, things seem to be getting in the way! Hopefully I am back so sorry to dissapoint anyone who hoped I wouldn't be coming back! :rotfl:

Not done much crafting, I did make a card on friday and another one yesterday but that is all, not been in the right frame of mind to do much to be honest! I will blog these later on.

I have come back to loads and loads of pages and probably loads of posts on the blogs so I am sorry but well done to you all and lovely cards (as they always are) I won't be able to catch up on all of this so will start afresh!

My craftwork cards order finally arrived ... I had a look at it yesterday and there was one of the messages missing, and also the card candy is really poor, big chunks of brown unpainted, uncut bits in there  also most of them are all cut with chunks out of them!! so I have called them this morning to complain!

CT - Can I ask where you got your butterfly file from? I have searched hundreds of places for all kinds of files but can't find any pretty butterflies!

    Hi Ali

Thanks. The children are ok, but don't want anything to do with him, can't blame them really, but it's entirely their own decisions, I've tried not to influence them at all. They're just a bit in shock, like I am, I think.

OH went back to work last week and he seems to be a bit better for having done so, although he's still in some pain with his sciatica.

He goes back to the hospital at the start of March for another Endoscopy so hoping all will come back clear again from that.

Wooo Hooo Great to have you back Rusty. Pants about your Craftworks cards order, they are usually excellent quality. Maybe we should boycot them at the NEC!! or at least tell them their quality is going down and they may loose the custom from all of us :) you never know we might get some freebies lol

Hi Rusty, glad to hear you are ok.

Re my butterflies, my OH created them by manipulating a very simple design he found on the internet. I'm at work now, but later tonight I will email you the file that I've been using. Flourgirl do you want the butterfly file too for the silhouette? If you do, then I'll send it to you as well.

    xx
