If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

  • I can't understand what all the fuss is about! I love getting ID'd when buying booze as I'm 32! The last kid who I'd me said "Oh blimey" when he read my DOB on my driving licence!

Well, my local shop is now hot on the Think 25 scheme. Every time I go in for cigarettes now without fail I'm ID'd. :(
  • I'm 29 and definitely don't look it! I get asked for id all the time and it does get frustrating but I do always carry my id with me.

What I completely disagree with Mr Tesco if you are listening is when I am doing my shopping with my dd and not being sold a bottle of wine or any other alcohol for that matter. I am legally allowed to buy it, so why because my little girl is with me should I not. It is mental!

I can understand it if i was with an 18 year old with a group of others that look under age, but I am not!

I will definitely be seeing the manager next time it happens!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I was reading this thread and thought I'd check out the whole fake ID thing - not that I need it - LOL haven't been asked in about 20 years:rotfl:
I couldn't believe how many websites do it - like this one - allegedly novelty items - why would anyone need a novelty fake id??

  • Tesco staff always ask me for ID all the time and I am 27. Even when i have my 6 year old with me they ask me for it! I hate having to carry my passport around because I am prone to losing things so I can understand where you are coming from here.

ironically, my 17 year old tells me he called into the local shop the other week for 4 cans on his way to a mates house. He was served no problems! So, my 17 year old can buy beer yet I get ID'd for ciggies?!!!

This is getting a bit silly now, i think the staff should be told to use they're common sense eg if a mother is shopping with they're 6 year old and the mother has bought some wine the CO should realise that teh mum isnt going to give her child some of the wine, its when it gets the stage where a mother/grand mother is shopping with they're 16 year old son/grand son that it gets risky
