Yeah I took my sister shopping (I think at the time she was 16) and I was teh only one who I ID'd for the bottle of wine.. but maybe we both looked over 25 (!)0 -
I got ID'd in tesco when I was 30. I was buying an £11 bottle of rioja. I pointed out to the assistant that it was hardly the choice drink for most 17 year olds and she acquiesced.0

Just seen a guy in sainsburys with his gf i guess and he tried to buy some alcohol but either had id so the sale was refused and he got in a right strop and said "ill tell you what you can have this back and ill go somewhere where im treated better" and he said this whilst emptying the bag of stuff he had already packed
its only a bottle of alcohol, why get yourself in a tizz about it, theres other places that sell alcohol0 -

dont know where you live but teh CO if asking or id say do you have any id for this, its a simple request and if no id is present then theres no need to get in a tizz about it0 -

I don't ever get in a tizz, I pretty much always have my driving licence with me as it lives in my wallet, alongside bank cards and cash, but I would be slightly annoyed to be refused alcohol after providing ID simply because someone else in the vicinity doesn't have an ID. Usually it is friends/partners but I was once asked for ID because a stranger ahead of me was buying alcohol. I admit I found that funny and the CO accepted it when we both said at the same time "I don't know him." There's no point making the same arguments again that everyone on this thread has made, but I jsut think common sense should be used more, or even better, ID the person buying the alcohol and then realise anything else isn't really your concern.Bought, not Brought0
