Good luck with that...I'm sure you'll do it as when you start something you are determined.
Ur an absolute star, and your an inpsiration, I look at your debt free trail, yet regardless of whats thrown at you, (weather etc), you get on with it, no excuses, no ifs, buts or whats, so if yoy don't mind I borrowed a leaf out of your book xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

Of course I don't mind:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I just tackle things by plodding on and on and on and eventually all those small ploddings will give me the result that I need...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Reading what you've put about your loan ...I think you may have misunderstood the paperwork....so maybe I can help you there...I'll put it in bullet points
(1)..The 4 figures they give are just examples...you'll see why as I progress further.
(2) All information I'm giving you now definitely is true of Halifax and Bank of Scotland loans(as I've looked into it deeply)
(3) With loans from BOTH of these banks you can overpay anytime you want BUT it doesn't alter the amount they take per month or the amount of interest paid on the loan until the day your overpayments are enough to clear the loan minus the interest saved.
(4) The easiest way to clear the loans is to save in a seperate account and when you are nearer the balance then ring up for a settlement figure..this will be the capital left and interest up until that date pluse usually 56 days interest....so can be quite a saving if you have a long time left on the loan...these are usually valid for a month.
(5) Why don't you give the loan company a call and they will explain it to you
EG...I've been putting £500 per month in a reg saver and by the time it is ready OCt 14th and goes into another account I'll have enough to pay both loans off and a couple of thousand towards a CC...as it will be £6500 plus interest I'll get back.
So by the times the loans have had their normal payments taken until OCT plus the bit of interest back...(probably only save about £200 on each one as it's far in to the loans) but better in my pocket than theirs....
That may give you something to think about.0 -
Your an absolute star, the loan with Halifax, its only when the credit cards and od cleared that be in a position to pay extra off, so may just put the extra in a savings account, and then ring for a settlement figure, but thats not till 2013... so sad to be planning that far, but just really want to have additional goals to look forward to. xx
I don't know what I'd do without u, gd that you've got the vue near you, def great saving compared to normal prices, and gd that they let adults in for the same price.
When dd was younger, she only thought the cinema opened on a Sat morning for the £1 films....... xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Nothing sensible to add just hi!!xx0

I had a feeling it was with Halifax so that's why I posted that for you. It's always good to be looking at other goals and then you always know what your aiming for and have an idea of how to achieve it or at least think of ideas of how to achieve it.0

A good day here, went to the travel agents and they refunded me straight away for Cuba, gone back to card, but they've even given me the money for the free insurance!! Worked out well as I can pay off Tunisia then replace when the insurance refund will go back to it.
But picked up a brochere for next winter and dd has spotted Cuba and Mexico..........Thinks a half term break in feb be nice...
another good news, booked mum to see dreamboats and petticoats, big mouth dad told mum he'd paid for the tickets....... she's now asked me to arrange it to a weekend away, she's paying...... you could of knocked me over with a feather.
Even managed to go to town without going via Home Bargains and Poundland.......
did a classic in Boots, phone top up time for the family, so did them between different tills to get the £5 voucher, as seen a set of no7 travel brushes should be £6.50, but u can use the vouchers off them, so there go in spare xmas box.
Back to the books, just realised, I've got 2 assisgnments for the main course to be done in May, plus one each on the other 2 courses....... Did I want a life.......def be a debt busting month won't have chance to do much else.
Very weird had a letter from Barclaycard, as a valued customer they've quadrupled my credit limit...... I was in shock, but will ring up and asked for it to be reduced, but couln't believe it, guess its the debt busting is making a difference.
Just had Cap 1 statement owe £335, so that won't get paid off in one go, as had mums bday prezzie, and the car..... but thats my 1st overpayment.... still got a week left so aim to add some more payments, loving colouring in my £50 squares!!
xx

Finally booked in for the lovely!! smear, and got to get my iud changed, don't want it, in all honeslty don't need anything, but from the other side of the coin, it stopped my time of the month, which when it was fitted was an absolute god send, I'd had time of the month for 6mths continually, so thats booked in next week as well.
Sort of daft, but on the xmas thread, set a challenge of making £20 but to spend on yourselves, so I'm having some pampering at the local college, (dead cheap), but its a personal trade off, that if I don't go next week, not allowing myself to have the treat.
Then booked in for week after that with GP, to have chat about weight and my mediciation, to see if theres anything we can do, as decided 1st May is D day (not diet, but as the scenic route for debt bursting working, then will try a senic weight plan!), got some of my Play.com order, so fingers crossed that trainer system should be here soon.
Think I've wrote for England 2ngt, wish it had been an assisgnment be 100%! xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Quiet day 2day and a no-spend day.
We all had a lazy lie in, then decided to spend 30mins tidying the junk corner in the dining room, just had this sudden urge to tidy, getting worried!!, 3 1/2 hrs later we finished.
Not that it was that bad, but we got all dds wii stuff downstairs now, shes got under bed roller box with games, and then another box of accessories, which I will just collect dust, and sorted out tidyed up and got 2 bags ready for carboot. Theres one at the school soon, so wait and do that one, its a pain as it says starts at 8am, but you have to get there by 6.30am to get a gd pitch... should cut a hole in the fence be cheaper!!
Funny earlier dd went out on the trampoline, didn't zip it up quick enough so Bailey jumped in with her, he was walking round it then started bouncing, by then dd started screaming...... says it all, so silly so use to Whisky being inactive and keep expecting Bailey to be the same forgetting that hes nearly 11months old and very active.
Still can't sort any money out till end of month, but know there be some to go off, like a big kid with the colouring off my squares.
Was debating whether to see how much Barclaycard would do a balance transfer for and transfer to their so can get rid of another card, just bouncing around ideas.
Picked up hol brochere yesterday, (always keep one for where were going if theres any major changes at hotel), dd got so exicted she thought we were planning a holiday, left her with the brochere and she's folded over 4 holidays in Cuba and 3 in Mexico, the best was the one ticked off was one in Cancun, called Tempation, (basically over 18 hotel - anything goes!), thought how do we get round this, said nice to look, but we have to save a lot of money, she said no problem, I'll save up and take us to that hotel, its adults only but I pay an adult price...... couldn't think of anything to say!! xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
just to say hello and your doing fab! Cuba sound wonderful to me!!!xx0
