Love to all, xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
No news from the grandparents, but who cares, still get the solicitor to deal with it.
Feel bit better today, think yesterday in the nicest of ways was the tonic needed...
DD has ballet lessons on Fri, and as hospital app was 1.30, seeing ortho lot about knee, and 50 miles round trip to hospital, so be on the safe side, my Uncle offered to drive me.
Fun starts... he's got a carrier bad with 2 pieces of foam to rest his knee when driving, he's had both knees replaced, but the 2nd one, we nearly lost him, and they cut through the nerves, so he's as dodgy as me. Every driver that was waiting to pull out we had to slow down and flash, bless him I had to checking the road signs as he wasn't sure, but we got there at 1pm.
Could not believe it, the lady who was on reception, really friendly, helpful, (did review card as excellent for her), then this bloke comes out + gives me a form for x-rays, he was lush, I was drooling, (that never happens), theres me thinking why I am in dressed in shorts, tshirts, + crocks (but thought get to knee quicker!), in + out of xray, within 5 mins, back to dept, straight in, sods law Mr Lush was the consultant...
The good news - don't need a knee replacement for 20 years, bad news..(this is me!), I only have about 20% useage of the muscles in my leg, knee has arthritis, and something else, he went through the xrays pointing out all the faults, and said the operation to wash out, would do more damage and not recommended. I've got to sit in chair swing my leg, 20 a day, the idea being is won't improve the muscles, but without any help, in 5 yrs time, I'll have 0 useage.
I was out by 1.30, so we stopped for a tea, went back to the car, wouldn't start, my uncle wasn't sure what breakdown cover he had with his insurance company, (he's old style), luckly got AA card, the woman said we're busy as Friday afternoon is breakdown day... I nearly said do you think I want to be broke down!!, then he gave me the reg, when the woman put it in, came up as a brand new Audi top of the range.. I wish we're in a N reg Peugot estate... but we got sorted, another cup of tea, another 2 loo visits... took 90 mins, then when the AA man asked about the battery, (look old), my Uncle said, I've had the car over 10 years and never replaced the battery!!, so he brought one from AA man + had it fitted, went to pay and AA don't take cash, he won't even entertain a debit card, a credit card dirty word (he's right there!!), luckly my child tax credit gone in that day, so for once I was able to do something for someone else, he was round here at 9am to pay me back, then he said I'd got £200 wallet, never thought of checking it.
While this was going on, rang home to tell dad we'd broke down, could he let my aunty know, he thought I was taking the mick, then when he rang my Aunt she apparently said oh,... are sure there not staying for another cup of tea!
Today he was over the moon, he's late 70s, and does charity work, playing organ for local care groups etc, he said it could have been midngt on country road.

Sounds stupid, feel so quilty going with all the money upset and the grandparents saga, but as mum said, we've given you half for the trip as bday present, and they surprised me with £100 towards trips today, which massive help.
Looked on trip advisor and the hotel is in a food area, so you eat from pizzas upto 5 course a-la carte, so know at least eat. Got to stop panicing!!

Absolutely shattered, but had an absolutely amazing break, the hotel was absolutely gorgeous, the service couldn't fault.
The taxi's were expensive, after spending 2hrs on the tram on Monday, couldn't work out where to get off!!! thought right 15min walk to castle, get a taxi... £28 return!! Saw the changing of the guards, which was amazing, didn't go into the castle, wouldn't have got round.
Wed onwards very brave and got on the tram, saw Wenclasas square, old town square, and the astromonical clock, it was beautiful. Just did a bit, back to hotel for 40 winks and then food!!
Booked 2 trips, 1st - coach tour round prague, then 3hr river cruise see the sights, (door to door service included), they had fireworks going off as well, just beautiful
Tradational folklore night, door to door, about 25mins away middle of no-where, just like being in barn of a bar, there was only 15 of us there.
Managed to be money saving, stocked up crisps and drinks near a Tesco store, and eat just off main street, it was amazing.I feel so relaxed, could face the world.
Letter from solicitor, confirming court dates again, and he was awaiting cafcass letter, - very sore point - as the cafcass officer rang his lordship after meeting with DD to update on her and the visit!! Whats more annoying theres a court order in place that he's not allowed to make any contact, I can only presume that the cafcass officer has breached her role, as all info should go through courts, but I was calm, (miracle after been before went away), put it into the to do pile.
I've got the most gorgeous daughter, who would give me the world and vice versa, and has a heart of gold. I rang from Prague and she told me off for wasteing credit!!!
Bill paying this week, - still haven't got the halifax to give me a straight answer re loan, everyone else is brilliant, they can't get blood out of a stone... relax.
off to bed..... xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
I really don't know what to say. I am SO sorry that your DD and you have been put through so much. And then have all the stress of debt as well, I wish you well with the upcoming stuff.
Also so sad about the other grandparents too. Sometimes people just don't think through the consequences of their actions.
I really hope that by the end of the year, this is finally settled for you. By the way it sounds like the Cafcass person is really trying to influence your DD into having contact that she doesn't want, ie about letters, cards etc. I would be :mad: about that too.
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
