Pay Pal & E-bay Could Not Arrange A P*** Up In A Brewery!

As you will see by the title of this thread my patience has finally run out with these two morons.

For the best part of a year, bar a few weeks, I have been writing to Pay Pal to try and get them to correct and admin error that sprung up on my account. They corrected it for a few weeks and it happened again and has done ever since. When they send out payment invoices for my account they show my address as 'UNCONFIRMED'. I have checked and double checked both my Pay Pal and E-bay account and they are correct and up to date. In fact PP have three time agreed in their e-mails that my address is shown on their records as 'CONFIRMED', that being the case, I asked, why are you sending out my invoices as 'UNCONFIRMED'? I received the usual automated answer to check this and that and how to do it, even though I have set out many times, item by item, copy and paste from my accounts details, that it is all correct.

So as you will understand by now I have lost it and had enough, the next step was to file a 'Complaint Against Pay Pal' form. The reply was to totally ignore the complaint and to tell me to check details in my account. I sent a stern reply, trying hard to keep polite even though I had steam coming out of my ears, asking why they had sent a reply such as this and ignored the fact that it was a COMPLAINT!. This morning I received a reply advising me to file a 'Complaint Against Pay Pal' form and showing how to do it.

Is it me or are they taking the p***? Do they try to wear you down so in the end you just give up, because it will not work with me, even if I have to send an e-mail a day. It's now war!

I have also sent 4 (FOUR) e-mails to E-bay informing them of the situation as in one e-mail reply PP blamed E-bay for the problem. I have yet to receive a reply from them.

Other than close the account, any advise?

What does it matter if your address shows as unconfirmed? It's sellers that need to worry, and as long as they send things by trackable means they're covered whether you're confirmed or not.
Do I have to ship to a confirmed address to be covered under Seller Protection?

You have to ship the item to the shipping address on the “Transaction Details” page and the transaction must be marked eligible or partially eligible for Seller Protection on the “Transaction Details” page.
Items sold on eBay will be marked eligible even if the shipping address is marked unconfirmed

My paypal account that I have had for 9 years suddenly started as unconfirmed about a year ago around the time the paypal protection rules changed. There is nothing showing that I need to do and I happily receive and send payments through it on a daily basis.

    @DaveAshton,

The main fact is that there is a PP error on my account which I want corrected. Also as a seller, when I receive an invoice with an 'unconfirmed' address I will find that I am not covered by PP sellers protection. (For what that is worth). I always contact my buyer to request confirmation of their address. It's only covering yourself.

I get the fact it's Paypal's mistake, I just don't understand why it's worrying you so much. Do you buy loads of stuff using Paypal but not on ebay?

I think that this is a good second reason. I seem to think that my seller would think as I would, that something is not quite right with an 'unconfirmed' address. As a seller it would look twice as bad, would you buy something from someone with an 'unconfirmed' address? I know I would not.

99% of the time you are covered the confirmed thing means nothing really my address seems to go months without being confirmed then strangly it is. As long as paypal say its eligable for protection it is

The Quote that Dave gave you is

    s
eller protection policy Do I have to ship to a confirmed address to be covered under Seller Protection?

So your getting yourself in a tiz over nothing. I does not matter if your address is confirmed. You probably have better things to do why not go and do them

Most seller know the rules that they are still covered by seller protection. As much as its a little annoying. You are really seeing and creating problems where there arent any

The fact is that PP do withdraw sellers protection if the address is unconfirmed. If you are a seller check out the next payment invoice with an unconfirmed address.

Thanks for the constructive advice in your second paragraph, it shows how you have understood the situation. Thank you for the time you have taken to give me this sample of your ebay know how! :T

I'm afraid that you are incorrect there. I sent some items this morning to unconfirmed addresses and they were all covered
however, is not necessarily a requirement for coverage under the Seller Protection Policy since not all PayPal users are able to confirm their addresses.

The last time I didnt have coverage on an un confirmed address was before the new policy came in over a year ago. Most overseas addresses are unconfirmed

As much as its abit a pain you are so convinced its a huge problem (when its actually a minor inconvenience). You do not wish to accept information/advice given from Highly experienced ebay sellers such as Dave. So why did you ask if you had already made your mind up

So if you wish to spend your time get all het up over something so small that is your decision. You have been given the official ebay/paypal line on unconfirmed addresses (which you dont believe) So there is little more I can contribute.

Maybe you need to find a hobby?
